I love your story, Rosalie. I can relate to having to adapt to accomplish the same tasks that we did before our injuries and wanting to be as independent as possible. The more I am able to do myself, the less my wife has to do for me. I am old enough to be your grandfather and I am also a CAF athlete. I am paralyzed from my chest, down after a bicycle accident in 2010. Thanks to a grant from CAF, I have the same Top End Excelerator that you have with tri-pin hand pedals. I was taught that there is life after a spinal cord injury and that exercise is medicine. After my accident, I got involved in adaptive sports thanks to the Triumph Foundation, Casa Colina Rehab Hospital and CAF, to name a few. I became, "Active Quad Steve Campbell." I hope I'll see you at a CAF event.
