Does anyone else feel like this where Charlie makes a great video and all his points make sense but i completely forget all of them whenever im in the real world situation or i remember the points when its too late?
hes made a video mentioning this fairly recently I believe. basically zero in on one video at once and once you've mastered that move onto another. I take it a step further sometimes and worry about mastering the steps he gives us one at a time as well. think about it this way: dancers aren't thinking about their whole routine while they are doing it. they are thinking about what theyre doing in the moment and whats next, and obviously the technique and emotion they add into the routine. but if the dancer messed up at two specific parts of the routine, it is efficient to focus on one section of the routine that needs improvement every time the routine is done. hopefully that makes sense.
1. Measure small units of success -> 2. Drill one thing until it becomes habit then move on < 3. Shorter Periods of study every day rather than big chunks 4. When starting, use many methods, when growing, stick with one 5. Debrief to avoid same mistakes
You need to practice it and, most importantly, rewatch the videos every other week or so. I've watched the Tyrion's video on frames about 5 times now and I've actually started to feel a big diference in the last 2 months or so. You need to practice and really think about it during your day. If you wait until the situation to happen so that you can put the things into practice, you will not be able to do it. You need to prepare yourself for the situations to come. You need to be thinking about it before it happens, so that when the moment finally comes you already know what to do and what to say, and you can put the things into action a lot more naturally. I hope that I've helped at least a little and that it all made sense to you :) Cya
I noticed this when I was taking a communications class in college, everyone who goes up to give a speech without notes did just fine in remembering what to say, without memorizing. Everyone who brought notes, ending up reading from the notes. It really isn't that bad, if you run through a speech a few times you will remember everything. If in doubt, have only key words from the bullet point and that is it. Taking notes up, is just shooting yourself in the foot.
lol maybe for you. Running through my speech a few times will get me nothing. The people who take notes up are self-aware and know what they need because they practiced at home.
@@greenfrog2891 I look down at my phone and read my notes the whole time and I just feel like I can’t connect with the audience doing Lol so my talk has to be 9 to 12 mins so I’m think of just having chronological bullets points and just talk about each bullet point for a minute and a half

I can't stress this enough. NEVER put the words that you're planning on saying in your PowerPoint. It makes you look like you don't know what you're talking about and the audience isn't engaged, because they get the " Oh he's reading it to us," idea. I've seen so many presentations and this is what ruins all of them. Another Tip: Always que the ending with "Thank you," if you are presenting a talk where you need people to clap at the end. It's an easy que that everyone understands. Saying "That's it," or "I'm done," makes it seem like you're not confident.
Basically a video about how you manage to speak through your videos. You're telling the know-how as you're doing the thing itself! And in a natural way, because that's your normal way of doing it. Amazing

I really enjoy these types of videos, where you talk about topics and circumstances that are faced by and accessible to regular people. Don't stop the charisma breakdowns though, because that's what makes this channel unique, and it's what drew me in to it. Maybe keep a ratio of face to face videos to breakdowns, maybe 3:1 or something.

It finally hit me when I got this video - the speeches after your points are suggesting me to go watch another video. Why didn't I see this coming? Sold on first video. I just subscribed and usually when I find something of value to me, and your video surely falls into this category, I go binge watching. Why this particular video hit home? I'm preparing to launch my first channel, right now creating content. Even though I'm very passionate about my message and it comes from my heart, I still wondered whether I'll be able to memorize my script. I just got my answer. Thank you for that. I have an observation: Growing up and going to school in Europe, we were made to memorize lots of poems so I developed my own method. Let your memory recall the message without looking at the paper, screen, etc. You touched on this and I thought: Bingo. I know how that works.

He basically used emotions over reason. his tone of voice and gesture all of it were full of emotion. you can look at his speech mute and still have goosebumps.

I cannot believe nobody out here asked for your tips on running a TH-cam channel. I regard your advice about all others and I know this video is 2 years old but it would be really helpful to me now if you made one.
From my own experience:1) the right flow (totally agree with you; but also make a good outline of the talk for the viewers)2) information hiding (no reason to talk when everything can be read from slide; consider how slides and talk form a unit)3) take home message (completly agree; just that every slide should have one too)4) time management (I tend to get faster when I'm nervous, but interruptions could stop the flow too, thus keep spare slides to adjust your speed)5) anticipate questions and prepare extra slides

You dropped a hit about editing out the details not relevant to the purpose of the presentation, and I have been to many presentation in conference where 5-7 min into the presentation you wonder "what is the purpose of this presentation ?" It would be great to have a breakdown with exemple + action plan about having a purpose and communicating said purpose in general conversations / presentations.

I want to try this some time. Usually talks I've given in the past have been technical and I simply created a powerpoint with only images and no text and found that was a better way to get started.
I studied in America as an international student and took up public speaking and debate classes. I wish I had taken the advice you gave in the video because I probably would have won more trophies (I memorised my speech word for word and one time I forgot one word which threw me off completely at a Nationals tournament). I was so mad and disappointed

This video was wonderful. I often speak and strong eye contact with ALL of my audience members is very important to me. It demonstrates a sense of authenticity. I also tried to create unedited TH-cam content, through memorization, but the pressure of trying to get it done in a small amount of time lead to more mistakes. Maybe when my life outside of TH-cam slows down I can return to unedited, with less time constraints. But great video, I look forward to looking at more of your content.
I was wondering if you could do a video that is a crash course explanation for frames. I found your Game of Thrones videos extremely helpful and I wanted to know more about the basics of frames, what types there were, and more ways in which they can be used.
So awesome. Last semester I discovered I'm really good at doing speeches and I always choose to do them without notes and I nailed them all. Now after watching the video I realized I did many of the things you mentioned, mainly just remembering the ideas and putting them in an order that flows and my speeches were natural and quite frankly, fun. I'll try the writing the speech part though, there's always room to improve.
I would love to know a little bit about the technical aspect of it! And for sure, thank you for these video, it was something I was always curious about when watching your videos. Congratulations!

I would LOVE a video that took a quick step back from charisma and tackled the details of your channel behind the scene. I for one want to know what program you use to write your dialects, edit videos, etc. It would be cool to hear a little rundown of all the equipment that you use like what type of camera you have, for instance. You know, I really feel that Charisma on Command has a true quality to it that you don't see much on the TH-cam scene. As such, I think it would be neat to learn what makes this channel this channel, you know, besides your wisdom, talent, and creativity. Just an idea!

Incorporating humor into speeches would be a good one. I think I'm a pretty decent public speaker but I don't often go out of my comfort zone and incorporate humor. I know it could definitely help to improve this.
That makes sens, thanks a lot for this video. Here a question I never find an answer before. A person very close to me has been touch by the victim mentality. Now, in life, her main purpose is to complain. She became like that due to a huge loss of confidence. Now for instance, she want to blame the world and she hate hearing success story from me. She loves when other people complain as this would increase his credibly. At every difficulty, she blames the people around her and say mean things. How do I replace that by confidence and wishing good to other people?

Hi Charlie, I am a huge fan of your channel, I've watched all your vids and I plan to pick a day to do a Charisma on Command masterclass where I marathon all of your vids and write down the most important bits, what to remember, what to practice. I have a request, that's a bit left field, but I think you might find interesting. Could try and make a video talking about depression, anxiety and suicide - share your thoughts, your experiences, maybe do a bit on how mental illnesses affect charisma and how charisma and positive social interactions could actually be used to treat some of the symptoms of mental illnesses. I hope that you do make such a video, as I think this could be very helpful to your viewers and the self-help community.
Good video. my method for speeches was always acting them out in my head multiple times days before the actual speech. Will take these points into consideration though.

The point is to practice them often. It will be clunky and forced at first but eventually it'll be second nature.

I'm sure I can apply all you've taught us so far, and i'm scrolling through to see if I can find anything you have already done that does apply which is pretty much everything I understand that
You dropped a hit about editing out the details not relevant to the purpose of the presentation, and I have been to many presentation in conference where 5-7 min into the presentation you wonder "what is the purpose of this presentation ?" It would be great to have a breakdown with exemple + action plan about having a purpose and communicating said purpose in general conversations / presentations.
Yeah, man, I would totally like to see your take on how to manage a TH-cam channel. You have a very good one, so it's clear that your advice will be sound.

I want to try this some time. Usually talks I've given in the past have been technical and I simply created a powerpoint with only images and no text and found that was a better way to get started.
I studied in America as an international student and took up public speaking and debate classes. I wish I had taken the advice you gave in the video because I probably would have won more trophies (I memorised my speech word for word and one time I forgot one word which threw me off completely at a Nationals tournament). I was so mad and disappointed
Loved this so helpful! I'm creating my first online course and didn't want to sound like I was reading notes in my videos. This really calmed my nerves and helped me structure it better.

you don't give yourself enough credit for the real finality of your videos. The entire tone of the video builds and builds until the last statement brings it to a fulfilling end. I'd still be very interested in the psychological and technical aspects of the youtube creation

Hey Charlie. First off, love your content. Your videos are so enjoyable to watch, and I love how you use your own stories to make your techniques more personal.
Anyway, apologies if you have already done a video on this, but I would love to see your tips for a job interview. I am currently looking for a job, so some tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I could probably just apply the first impressions tips and some others that you have given in other videos, but it would be interesting to know whether or not you have any specific for interviews.

This video was wonderful. I often speak and strong eye contact with ALL of my audience members is very important to me. It demonstrates a sense of authenticity. I also tried to create unedited TH-cam content, through memorization, but the pressure of trying to get it done in a small amount of time lead to more mistakes. Maybe when my life outside of TH-cam slows down I can return to unedited, with less time constraints. But great video, I look forward to looking at more of your content.

So awesome. Last semester I discovered I'm really good at doing speeches and I always choose to do them without notes and I nailed them all. Now after watching the video I realized I did many of the things you mentioned, mainly just remembering the ideas and putting them in an order that flows and my speeches were natural and quite frankly, fun. I'll try the writing the speech part though, there's always room to improve.
Your shape when standing is pefectly attractive. Can you make a short video about this?

I'd love to see more about the psychology of making a channel like this. I'm sure a lot of the challenges that come up are applicable to other life challenges.
I would LOVE a video that took a quick step back from charisma and tackled the details of your channel behind the scene. I for one want to know what program you use to write your dialects, edit videos, etc. It would be cool to hear a little rundown of all the equipment that you use like what type of camera you have, for instance. You know, I really feel that Charisma on Command has a true quality to it that you don't see much on the TH-cam scene. As such, I think it would be neat to learn what makes this channel this channel, you know, besides your wisdom, talent, and creativity. Just an idea!

YES to the psychological and technical video breakdowns.
I'd be interested in extra TH-cam-focused videos. A lot of those principles would likely apply to things like short speeches and presentations, use of multimedia, how to be engaging right off the bat, keeping peoples' interest, and on and on.

Incorporating humor into speeches would be a good one. I think I'm a pretty decent public speaker but I don't often go out of my comfort zone and incorporate humor. I know it could definitely help to improve this.

Here a question I never find an answer before. A person very close to me has been touch by the victim mentality. Now, in life, her main purpose is to complain. She became like that due to a huge loss of confidence. Now for instance, she want to blame the world and she hate hearing success story from me. She loves when other people complain as this would increase his credibly. At every difficulty, she blames the people around her and say mean things.
How do I replace that by confidence and wishing good to other people?

Great advice. I recently had to present a new PowerPoint. I practiced, practiced, practiced and then the day of the meeting the PP didn't function correctly. It was hard to regain the engagement with the customers.
Hi Charlie, I am a huge fan of your channel, I've watched all your vids and I plan to pick a day to do a Charisma on Command masterclass where I marathon all of your vids and write down the most important bits, what to remember, what to practice.
I have a request, that's a bit left field, but I think you might find interesting. Could try and make a video talking about depression, anxiety and suicide - share your thoughts, your experiences, maybe do a bit on how mental illnesses affect charisma and how charisma and positive social interactions could actually be used to treat some of the symptoms of mental illnesses. I hope that you do make such a video, as I think this could be very helpful to your viewers and the self-help community.
Good video. my method for speeches was always acting them out in my head multiple times days before the actual speech. Will take these points into consideration though.
