Man I remember getting budokai 1. I was 8 at the time and saw all the commercials for it. We finally went to Walmart with no intentions of getting the game. I saw it in the game section and begged my mom to get it. After a bunch of no's she finally gave up and got it for me, I was so damn happy. I got home and played it nonstop on the story mode and was amazed at how close it was to the actual anime. Now I'm playing FighterZ and I literally feel like I 'm playing and watching the anime at the same time and I'm ehjoying every minute of it. DBZF is literally my favorite DBZ game right next to tenkaichi 3.
I must say though, DBZ is my number favorite show and anime in the world period. I know there are other animes that have a better story, but the world, characters and art style of dbz are just so amazing to me. I still feel that DBZ is one of the best action animes out there. Thanks for this awesome video and taking me down memory lane.

We went to Target back in December 2002 after Christmas Day, and my young brother bought Dragon Ball Z: Budokai for the PlayStation 2 console. Our very first Dragon Ball videogame/merchandise that we have when we were kids. Even though we watched Dragon Ball Z in the late '90s on weekday morning syndication on television and Toonami on Cartoon Network on weekday afternoons. Plus in the early 2000s, we watched the original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT on Toonami on Cartoon Network in English dub, also we watched the Japanese version (with English subtitles) of both Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT on AZN Television (Comcast/Xfinity) on Sunday night @ 10pm for the very first time that I hear during my childhood. I have collected Dragon Ball videogames for a decade ago and I also played other videogames as well for 2 decades during my childhood up to my young adulthood. So Dragon Ball is very fun to watch and very fun to play with Dragon Ball videogames with fighting genres (Budokai, Tenkaichi, etc), RPG genres (The Legacy of Goku series), and etc. I have a very good time enjoying grew up watching and videogames from the Dragon Ball franchise that I love. Also I enjoyed other things as well.

I wish you'd talk more at length about specific games. For instance, at 35:10, you barely say anything about Attack of the Saiyans at all, even though it's quite a beloved cult classic.

I had Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, Budokai 2, Budokai 3, Sagas, Budokai Tenkaichi, Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Infinite World, Burst Limit, The Legacy of Goku series (played), Raging Blast, Raging Blast 2, Ultimate Tenkaichi/Ultimate Blast, Xenoverse, Xenoverse 2, Fusions and FighterZ. I have played Dragon Ball videogames since the early 2000s in my late childhood up to today's generation. And I have a great time playing these classic Dragon Ball videogames and other things that I enjoyed as well.

God this helped me find out which old dragon ball game got me into dragon ball lol. I remember being younger than 7 and fucking up vegito as gogeta and vice versa but it's all i could remember after more than 10 years.
I loved sagas and played the future saga so much with one armed gohan it was amazing, also had each visual and wish they would make 4 with storm 4s mechanics but polished
Even though these games got rough reviews, I do believe Raging Blast & Raging Blast 2 was a great game to have your friend over with and do some Tournaments. Ofcourse Budokai 3 was the best for that overall.
I was so happy when we got Budokai 1, finally a dbz game, I thought it was the best back in the day.
The final part should be updated so that the Nintendo Switch is put in with FighterZ, because a Switch version is coming.
29:31 Well, you couldn't blame them, they made games during the Dragon Ball Z dark age. FUNimation was done dubbing GT, therefore because the series was already in both Japanese and English, game developers didn't have any Dragon Ball material to work with.
Every one gives the credit to Tenkaichi 3 being the best dbz game ( not best fighting game) but forget Tenkaichi 2 as that was the base for tenkaichi 3 and made a huge graphical and gameplay wise jump

idk, maybe it's all just nostalgia, but i loved legacy of goku when it came out. me and my friends had one copy that we swapped around several times between '02 and '12. still play it on emulator to this day. i mean, sure. it's a little rough. limited. but as an early gba title, i don't know if i'd say it was 'bad.'
How many fighting games does this franchise need? We need an amazing 3rd person shooter like Jedi Knight Dark Forces II

The earliest Dragon Ball game I've played is Budokai. I personally own Budokais 2 and 3, Infinite World, Tenkaichi 2 and 3, Super Dragon Ball Z, Raging Blast 2, Ultimate Tenkaichi (came with the PS3 when I got it, wouldn't have bought it otherwise) and FighterZ. I remember wanting... one of the DS ones, I know you'll mention it eventually in the video but I don't wanna wait that long. And I also actually considered getting Sagas at one point, for the sake of trying to get all the DBZ PS2 titles.

29:15 when tf were critics ever good at reviewing anything. It has the most lax story mode to get thru out of all the games and it makes it easy as shit to unlock most of the roster. You can literally get it done in less than half a day

Personally i liked Legacy of Goku alot it was very hard and required you to think alot, the sequel was nice but felt tedious some times and the third really was just to easy (but man was it fun). Overall Legacy of Goku gonna hold number one in my heart in that series.

My favourite is Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 and 2
We all know that the Budokai Tenkaichi series were the best! It came between 2005-2007, a period where Dragon Ball had universal appeal and everyone from New York to the Amazon jungles of South America to the deserts of Arabia to the Rice patties of Asia were watching it. Dragon Ball was the biggest cultural phenomenon of the 2000's decade and started Anime. In fact most people grow up that time and television was at it's infancy. Countless games have come out since but people grew up and moved on to do better and bigger things and trying to recreate that magical time only makes it lose its magical touch.
I think the best game would be a fusion between Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Naruto Broken Bond, the exploration mechanics and world building of Broken Bond is unrivaled, so a Tenkaichi game that had such world building and exploration would be the best game ever made!
