Just got a Claymore frame before Xmas, will be building it up in January. Cant wait to try out what feel it will give It will be my 2nd bike for parks mostly 🍻
I'm sure a high pivot bike works. However, how much better is it than a regular bike? If you're racing, the few seconds you gain might be worth it. However, for the non-racer, all that extra expense, complication, and reduced efficiency for only a minimal gain might not be worth it.
They're good for making agile 29ers with shorter chainstays. Not to forget that they counteract the wheelbase shortening effects of fork compression with their rearward axle path, so they either stay stable under compression or get more stable.
Horses for courses, so I hope they aren't up for mass adoption because I don't really like the riding feel of them but for those that do, I hope they stay around.
i always appreciate when someone takes the time to explain vs making me feel like a pheasant for even thinking about asking
A pheasant? Why do you feel like a bird?
Overly complicated engineering solution to a problem that doesn't exist (for most of us)
Marketing will tell us that we need this!😂
Seen a lot of negatives about that Trek recently and before I get tarred with the hater brush, I am a Trek Slash rider 😉

Perhaps we should put them head to head one day!

What about high pivot e-bike, like Rocky Mountain? Or the concept presented by Yamaha last month in Tokyo?
I think chain wrap would be too much of an issue with the amount of torque you get on an e-bike. The idler wheel probably wouldn't handle it either.
£100+ for a chain! 😂 Wtf has happened to the bike industry?!
Do you need a high-pivot MTB in your life? 🤔
