I bought the Low Rider ST last year, sometimes I regret spending so much money on a bike lol. However, when I ride it I’ve got absolutely no regrets. To me it’s THE cruiser motorcycle

Yeah, saw mine at the dealership one month ago, the blue paint with muscle car inspired white stripes is just gorgeous, so I promptly traded in my Sport Glide.

And it's funny but the real Fast Johnny rode mostly Triumphs.... so, good on Harley for recognizing the man and not the brand!

    • @blasimatt
      @blasimatt 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@Scout4x Fast Johnny is the Wrecking Crew's mascot pig who got the name Fast Johnny because they'd (mostly Weishaar) put him on the tank and take around on victory laps, it's not in reference to human rider. It's also linked to the origination of the term Hog for Harleys. The pig was actually Weishaar's and he named it Johnny when he adopted it.

Asphalt hurts. My first experience was on a beautifully curvy local road where idiots did burnouts in the dirt, scattering the corner with dirt and gravel. It was dark, and I was cruising. The front end washed out, and I kissed pavement... The second was on the freeway when somebody decided to change lanes immediately. I was there, and he took me out. That one really hurt. Cracked ribs. Beautiful colors from the bruises and scrapes. I considered myself lucky to walk away from the whole affair. The whole side of my bike took a lot of damage... Lessons learned..

I bought the same in 2023 and I have been thinking about changing it for a Fat Bob, as I do a lot of commuting and not much of long riding. The Low Rider ST is fantastic, tho. It's just aesthetic and appeal why I'm thinking about swapping it since I'm leasing.

Very much enjoy the diversity of bikes you talk about. I’m not captivated by a brand, but just love motorcycles in general. I’ve had BMWs, Yamaha’s, Triumphs, and Harleys. Ridden other brands. For me, it’s more about the bike than the brand. Of the various bikes I’ve had or ridden, my Low Rider ST is by far my favorite. Handles like a dream. Is surprisingly good for long trips. Live in central Illinois and took it to the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee. Four day trip. Easy trip entire time. A reviewer said it does nothing well. I find it does many things well. And the part I love the most? The handling. Handles like a dream. Interested to see what you think of the bike after you spend some time with it.

I am buying a new Harley Low Rider ST next month and the first modification I am making is changing the pipes and either doin ga stage 1 or 2. I am an older rider and turn 62 next month and do NOT like riding at 100 MPH. But I do love going from 0 to 60 as quickly as possible. Just out of curiosity what pipes did you change and what made you choose stage 2 over stage 1? I do not mind spending money upgrading my bike and just curious how much more torque you get from the stage 2 versus stage 1? My last bike was a heavy Street Glide with the sluggish 88 V-twin so having a 117 engine on a bike that weighs 100 lbs less means the stock engine would probably be enough torque and power for me. But because I am changing the pipes I am going to also do a stage 1 or 2 and not sure which is the better option for me as the money saved could go to a new seat or another accessory I may want. Thanks for any feedback. Safe riding my friend.

Back in 2019 when I bought my 2019 Sport Glide they didn't have anything but the 114 upgrade. I went with the 107 stage III. It is essentially a 114 short stroke and it has been great. I chose the stage III because the stage IV is mostly top end and I don't ride revving my engine out all the time. Glad I didn't have the option of a 128 stage or a 135 crate engine as I might have splurged. Reason being is gas mileage. I do a lot of long distance rides with my buds and I definitely see a difference just between the 107 and 107 stage III upgrade in gas guzzle. Can't imagine what a 135 would suck down. The 117 might not be too bad but it is definitely more than your 107. If 600 mile days are not your thing then definitely look into a displacement stage upgrade kit like a119 or 128 as just a cam probably won't satisfy you.

In saying that the S&S slash cut slip ons are great vs the VH as they control the reversion better.

A Harley that handles well is quite an appealing idea! What makes it handle so much better than a Softail, a shorter wheelbase? Better suspension? Smaller wheels? All of those combined?

The steering geometry is a little steeper than a lot of the Harleys, which gives it more agile handling by comparison.

You’re right about Harley it’s about lifestyle thus a lifestyle video becomes suitable! 👍🏻

I’m trying to decide between this and the heritage classic. Seems like this has more tech which is good. Love the style of the heritage tho.

To be honest I would go for the Heritage as you can take off the screen and the bags, the mud guards work property and it looks so cool 😎 (The Ol' Man👍🏼).

Does the 475 cam void the warranty on a new bike?

Place a 30/30 cam in your own bike, it'll completely change the power of it.

If they fitted a instrument dial like Indians with a built in sat nav it would take the bike to the next level rather than the basic display that I had fitted to my street Bob

I've never riden a Harley as they're out of my price range. That bike does seem awesome though.

Its my favourite harley, if I ever end up with a harley again it will be this one. But not with the stock exhaust, a stock exhaust on a harley should be illegal...

HD M8, 114 stage 1. Is more than enough. Why the 117 ? Bike is beautiful, but aren't they all? Just ride and enjoy 😎

It's nice but a 90 fat Bob is my Favorit. Thinking about buying one Sometimes but I prefere tall Bikes Like my Dr 800 S Big or my KTM 790 Adventure R. Or a Desert X

I always park my bike directly outside the shop I’m visiting on the pavement.
