why miles per hour and metres should it not be miles per hour and yards

Thanks for the question. We could have used yards but we used metres as this is the unit used in the highway code on stopping distances. Feet is also used in it as well but it makes it easier for viewers to have one unit system. It would have also meant showing two representations of thinking distance and stopping distance for each speed which would have been unnecessary. We're happy to bear the information in mind for the future though!
