This just proves his raw talent. He's not like the other 'talented' singers that don't write their own songs and have their voice enhanced with auto-tune and various other edits. All Ed needs is his guitar and voice. Perfect.
I agree he has talent, but what he has more is SKILL. People often mistaken skills for talents. It's not like he was born with all this talent, he worked his a** off to be where he is now, so i would call him skilled rather than talented ;)

nobody writes lyrics like ed does. i love him because it seems like hes the only person who's put thought, love, and meaning into his work "just for the sake of it" in quite a long time. the world needed to see someone like this. im so happy hes making it despite all odds.
Everyone talks about how young he is and how this song seems like he's talking about how sure he is of himself and all that he's gone through, but people forget that (or don't really know) that ed has been doing this for years before the actual fame. This was his life since young teens so he hits it pretty spot on with the lyrics and he definitely is one of the best artist out there. He should be cocky. He has the talent so he's using it. He's bloody brilliant id say.

What y'all saying this ain't rap for?! Rap is about putting lyrics together on a beat or track and making em rhyme like a poem. Ed Sheeran does this with so much skill and creativity plus he plays guitar at the same time, I don't see many other rappers doing that! What makes it even more astounding is that he ain't even a rapper yet he's better than most popular rappers! Ed has a crazy talent that don't come often and just finished a tour at Wembley Stadium, its fine if you don't like him or this song but don't dare try saying this ain't rap or he can't rap cos you gotta either be deaf or brainwashed by the media. Just saying.
Yeah same version, but I meant that this take sounds as good if not better than the take that he recorded the album version in. Sorry for the confusion! But after a comparison I realised he plays the two aforementioned takes in different keys...interesting! :)

Ed sheeran one of the small percentage of artists that sounds exactly how they sing in music videos
Couldn't be more right
Yes it's exactly the same on Spotify
+Calvin barot yeah no sound edits
+Marielle Sansig he also sounds the same on itunes
Honestly I think he's even better live.
Am I the only one who thinks this guy raps better than most actual rappers without even being one?
Hell no Ed sheeran is better than everyone
Jaiden Dudgeon not eminem
Soo Lin Yao especially eminem in my opinion.
that's coming from a fangirl who obviously sticks with 1D and JB. lol, i'd be damned if you aint
Soo Lin Yao Nope I don't like One Direction or Justin I just prefer rapping like Ed's compared to Eminem who is a little violet with his lyrics.

I think he has both. I would never have sing and play like that, even if i did work for it Carmen Kaczkowski Jonas Kaikaris

I’m not a rapper I’m a singer with a flow
I’ve got habbit for spitting quicker lyrics you know
You find me ripping the written out of the pages they sit in
I never want to get bitten
Cos plagiarism is hidden
Watch how I sit on the rhythm
Prisoner with a vision
Signed to a label
But didn’t listen to any criticism
Thought you knew but you didn’t
So perk your ears up and listen
Studio is the system
And you could say that I’m driven
And now it’s onto the next saga
We drink the best larger
I’ll never try to win you over like your step father
I do my own thing now
And get respect after
And I’m avoiding the ‘caine
Like it was Get Carter
For four years I never had a place to stay
But it’s safe to say it that kept me grounded
Like a paper weight
And 16 years old yeah I moved out of my home
I was Macy Gray I tried to say goodbye and I choked
Went from sleeping at a subway station
To sleeping with a movie star
And adding to the population
Not my imagination
I don’t wanna relax
Would it hurt your reputation if I put it on wax?
I take it back now
Mmmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don’t you fade into the back love
No
I take it back with the rhythm and blues
With my rap pack I’ll be singing the news
Tryin’ act like Jack Black
When I bring it to school
I make a beat with my feet
By just hittin’ the loop
Bringing the lyrics to prove
That I can fit in these shoes
I give you the truth through the vocal booth
And stars burst out on the scene
Like an opal fruit
They try to take aim like Beckham when he goes to shoot
But then again that’s what they’re supposed to do
And I’m supposed to be calm
I tattooed the lyrics onto my arm
Whispering everything that happens
Is from now on
I’ll be ready to start again
By the end of the song
Since they are claiming I handled it wrong
But I’ve never had an enemy
Except the NME but I’ll be selling
Twice as many copies as their magazine will ever be
With all these spectacles ahead of me
And festival fess healthier than a Dalmatian on pedigree
Singing for the masses rubber dingied rapids
I keep this rapping a habit and keep on fashioning magic
I’m battling for respect and I don’t know if I have it
This song from the heart covers the planet
Mmmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don’t you fade into the back love
No
And take it back now
Now I don’t ever wanna be perfect
Cos I’m a singer you never wanna see shirtless
And I accept the fact that someone’s got to win worst dressed
Taken my first steps into the scene giving me focus
Putting on a brave face like Timothy Dalton
Considering a name change thinking it was hopeless
Rhyming over recordings avoiding tradition
Cos every days a lyrics and the melody can be written
Now absence can make your heart ache
But drinking absinth can change your mind state
Vividly need to let my liver be
I’ll say it again living life on the edge with a close handful of friends
It’s good advice from the man that took his life on the road with me
And I hope to see him blowing up globally
Cos that how it’s supposed to be
I’m screaming out vocally
It might seem totally impossible achieving life’s dreams
But I just write schemes
I’m never having a stylist giving me tight jeans
Madison Square Garden is where I might be
But more likely you find me in the back room of a dive bar with my mates having a pint of Mcdaid discussing records we made and every single second knowing that we’ll never betray the way we were raised remembering our background sat down, that’s how we plan it out
It’s time to take it back now
Mmmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don’t you fade into the back love
No
Mmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don’t you fade into the back love
No
Clearly just copied off google, not even got the extended rap
