64 years of age and in tears. Lost my brother in 2000, still trying to heal. You never get over it, you learn to live with it, still working on it "Nothing will take the pain away, think about you everyday"
That quiver in Ed’s voice at the end of the song… you can tell he just put everything he has into this performance and could barely make it to the end. Such a powerful song.
Only time ive seen him sing with his eyes closed so much, you can see the pain in his face... feel for the guy, Loosing a best mate at a young age its just something ill never understand even though ive been through it, wishing Ed the best, its been 10 years im still not over my boy
It may be in all honesty which is crazy cause it doesn’t even have his signature guitar & the chorus is the only part he sings. Ed can rap for sure but this just hits on a different level, raw emotion & experiences put into a song.
I’ve always rated Ed highly but this makes me respect him even more, SB helped him start his career now he’s come back to pay his respects to his friend from day. I love this mannn
No matter how many times I listen to Ed's song "F64," it makes me cry. No matter how many years pass, I remember the feelings and heartache I felt for my loved ones. Even if I move forward I can't forget it.
This is probably one of the most raw and heartfelt tributes I have ever heard. Definitely hits hard for those who saw Ed come up at a time where Jamal created a platform and more for artists that didn’t have one. I remember the days I used to convert SBTV videos into MP3 files so I can listen to them on my way to school and Bluetooth them to my mates. Ed is clearly a generational talent and has proved how versatile of an artist he really is. I know Jamal is proud and happy for your blessings Ed. Stay strong and carry on blessing the world with your art through Jamal’s legacy. Thank you for everything Jamal.
Mate! I litterally used to do the exact same thing. SBTV was worth the ball ache of my computer taking forever for it to download. I put it on cd too. My mum used to take my CD player off me when I was younger when I’d been a little shit because that’s the only thing that would make me listen. I could not have put it any better! Jamal inspired me a lot when I was leaving college, watching his Google chrome ad, making me think it was possible to chase making videos, I still remember the day he saw my channel and messaged me, I could hardly afford the train ticket to London to meet him, I'm grateful for the opportunities and the self belief he gave me and many others, a legend, RIP Jamel 💙

@@tomdalton498 ok I could've worded it better but I clearly know about the F64 series cause half of the real OGs got one 😂 I should've said hope it revives this series and boosts the channel up cause Jamal clearly would've wanted that and Ed has one of the biggest platforms and fans to make it happen
The fact that they played this masterpiece on Croatian radio today left me speechless. When Ed sings about his life expiriences, it hits different. That's why his first albums vere so special. Love you Ed 🤍 May your friend keep you safe 🕊️
I never comment on videos, but after watching the Disney series and then this - wow - what a finale. Ed, you’re a once in a generation talent and this song may be your most personal and intricately lyric’d song to date. Feel the pain, and wish everyone had the vocabulary and lyrical ability to sing a tribute like this for all of their lost loved ones. You’re one of the best, keep creating, mate.
It's so great to see Ed back on SBTV, it's great to hear him rapping from the heart again and with such a good message, towards the end you can hear the pain in his voice when he says SBTV.. made my heart melt, ed really is one of a kind and I will never stop listening to him
People don’t understand how sick this actually is Jamal’s best friend is performing at Stamford Bridge with his name in lights face on the screen. What an amazing tribute large up Ed and long live Jamal 💙UTC
I met Jamal once back in 2012 at an event put on by Richard Branson for young people looking to get into business. The beaming smile on his face in the photo I got with him says it all - the fact he was at an event like this to help support any young people he could goes miles for demonstrating his personality and selflessness. I remember watching Ed on SBTV from the start and this song is such an incredibly powerful tribute.
Just watched this for the 1st time, didn't expect it to hit me so hard. A beautiful tribute only a true friend and brother could have done. Outstanding!

RIP Jamal, you brought great music to millions and gave opportunities to thousands. Your name will go down in grime, UK rap/hiphop history. Thank you Ed for a fantastic tribute to a fantastic man Fly high man we know you're looking down smiling watching over what you created
Oh what I would give to watch the entire scene do a tribute for Jamal. Just imagine: Ed, Ghetts, Wretch 32, Stormzy, Akala, Doc Brown, Lowkey, Kano, Wiley, Big Narstie, Mic Righteous, Dave, Mysdiggi, Sway, Devlin and so many more who Jamal gave a voice to! What a fuckin line up that would be!
What a tribute. I'm an Australian but I've followed SBTV for years - it was the first place I ever heard Ed. I also know how football mad you lot are & can appreciate what it means for this to be filmed inside the home ground of Jamal's favourite team. Respect and love to Ed for posting this on Jamal's platform and clearly involving his family all the way through. ❤ RIP Jamal
I feel for Ed, and the rest of Jamal's family. SBTV really changed the music scene in England for the greater good, and we will never forget that. Long Live Jamal.
I lost my very best friend 14 years ago tragically and unexpectedly. And It never goes away. This song perfectly incapsilates the hurt pain and.empty space that will never be filled. You never get over it. There's always a space. You just adjust to it.
1:22 seeing him glance at Jamal on the big screen... And everything want inbetween shows his heartbreak .. When he sings "my brother was sbtv" nuff said. Rip jamal. I don't doubt we'd have heard from ed eventually, but you had his back from day zero. And we all felt the loss even though we didn't know you, over 2 million people felt like we did but understand the loss of your amazing mark and impact on music as we know it.
Your music helped me get out of a very deep, anxiety laced, depression. Keep giving us ALL the musical therapy we can handle. Keep inspiring us to be we by you just being you. Thank you. Thank you. 🙏
Now THAT is how you bring back the iconic F64 series! Amazing tribute from Ed but I didn't expect anything less. Man, I still can't believe that he's gone. RIP Jamal
Substract hit me to my core. I lost my dad just a few days before Christmas 2022 and I have troubles expessing the pain I have in my heart. I’ve been watching Ed since his Chubby Bunny challenge and he’s been my go-to artist each time I was going through something in my life. Good or bad. For over a decade now. And when I needed it the most, here comes Ed with Substract. Puting his heart out and being vulnerable to the world. Really inspiring. This gig…ah. What a tribute to Jamal. You’ve done an amazing job and it is a wonderful gesture to put this song onto SBTV Channel instead of yours. Jamal is surely proud of you, Ed, and he will tell you that once you see each other again. I hope, my dad will be proud of me too, when I see him again in heaven. May all the ones we lost fly high and protect us from above. Rest in peace. 🤍
Wow some raw emotion right here, it’s taken you a year to be able to put your feelings into music, Jamal gave you your first break in the music industry and became one of your best friends RIP JE ❤️
This was perfect. What an amazing tribute. Ed is such a legend and unlike many artists who lose touch with their roots and the people that helped them. Jamal Edwards was a pioneer for UK music. RIP.
Ed is such a legend. He was born for this. He's such a complete and highly decorated artist. He plays a huge role in all of our lives. These timeless tune will definitely be part of ou lives forever. This song is so amazing, and very emotional. Thank very much Ed for yet another offering. Please stay with us because the world needs you like we need oxygen. This is beautiful. Raw and real emotion. Ed is humble and true to his roots and speaks for us all when he describes the hole Jamal has left. True pioneer. SBTV set the levels from early. RIP SB x
I couldn’t make it through without crying. I had to regain composure. Rest in peace. Ed Sheeran all I can say is ❤️ . I remember when I he dropped his first f64 me and my friends watched it when it was on like 10000 views. I swear to god with lyrics like this it’s a miracle he was able to record it definitely took him months ❤❤❤❤
Ed is a special human I can relate to him on this so much the pain of losing your best friend young fucks your head up. And it doesn’t get easier it gets scarier as the years go by because of the space it’s been without them. 5 years for me. Hold them close. Sending love out !
This was my number 1 played song on my Spotify wrapped this year. I played it 356 times... I swear I played it more times than that. I play it every morning before I go to work, I play it when I'm angry, I play it when I'm sad. I play it when I just can't get the words out to how I'm feeling. The amount of times I played this video would have been in the hundreds too. It just hits. It is honestly one of Ed's best. x
No words do this justice. From a 15 Yr old finding SB to now nearly 35 it hits different, such an emotional F64. So grateful for Jamals work, he would be so fucking on it for this F64. I remember the original Ed freestyle like it was yesterday. Nostalgic as fuck. Big love to everyone x
jesus ed im a 51 year old guy i lost my best friend back in my 20's like you and jamal we were brothers this track realy does hit the heart and says everything i could never say i realy do feel your pain chin up my friend the pain never goes away but it does get easyer
Beautiful tribute, Ed! Of course I don’t know you personally and didn’t know Jamal personally, but when Jamal passed away, I thought to myself…with Ed’s big heart, he’s going to always make sure Jamal’s family is taken care of and sure enough…you put it in this song. ❤❤❤ Ed, above everything…your talent, intelligence, good looks…you are a good person and that’s what matters most. Your talent is icing on the cake. Your character is why so many people will ALWAYS love you! I’m a fan of YOU as a person. Blessings from Atlanta, GA.
This song is exactly what I needed to hear. I can relate my brother passed last year. The best song Ed sheeran has ever made. I can feel it all through this song. I’m sorry your hurting Ed
This gives me goosebumps every time and makes me cry. Ed’s pain is so honest and raw. Jamal was clearly an amazing man and an inspiration to many people. 💙
Wow, just watched Brenda on Loose Women, then came here to listen to Ed’s tribute. Brenda said every word from start to finish was true… wow, utterly beautiful, touching, and true… you can hear the truth in every word. Sending all the Love in the word to Brenda, Tanisha, Ed & all family & friends of Jamal’s amazing young life & all of his accomplishments. Come on you blues… we done similar with Chelsea blue ribbons when my love past away, totally get it. #everythingislove 💙 x
One thing about Ed, he will ALWAYS deliver and so fitting that he's the first F64. That brotherhood between him and Jamal can't be replicated. Keep resting peacefully Jamal 💙🕊🙌🏾
I remember seeing JE on the tube one day and him getting off at my stop. It blew my mind that I lived so close to a pioneer in the scene. From that day I would rehearse in my head what I would say to him next time I saw him. I wanted to tell him how important he was for us and how he is the reason our scene is so strong today. JE was ahead of his time. I just wanted to give him his flowers but I never got the chance. I hope he knew how much we all owe him.
He lost a soul mate. You can hear his desperation to see his friend again but knows he never will. Death is so final. I realized this when i lost my dad. My first real loss. I hope you find peace as time goes on. God bless❤
Life goes on after death. I truly believe he will see his best friend again. Once his body is gone your spirit lives on. They will be together when it is time. What a beautiful humble souls they both are in life. Jamal is with you every where you go Ed.
wow bro respect for making this and honoring your mate no one can forget sbtv from my young teens i watched his thing grow its a shame he went so young rip jamal gone but never forgotten!

So, so powerful...and such an amazing tribute to your beautiful friend.
This is beautiful. Raw and real emotion. Ed is humble and true to his roots and speaks for us all when he describes the hole Jamal has left. True pioneer. SBTV set the levels from early. RIP SB x
Grew up on SBTV TH-cam videos, can remember the classic Ed intros with Jamal behind the camera. Legend, R.I.P 🕊️💙
I can't even imagine how many times he had to try to record this. My heart hurts. ❤️🩹
😢
It is honestly one of Ed's best. x
Thank you ed for the wonderful music you produce. Keep it up. Rest in peace Jamal 😢
💯 💯

Beautiful tribute, Ed! Of course I don’t know you personally and didn’t know Jamal personally, but when Jamal passed away, I thought to myself…with Ed’s big heart, he’s going to always make sure Jamal’s family is taken care of and sure enough…you put it in this song. ❤❤❤ Ed, above everything…your talent, intelligence, good looks…you are a good person and that’s what matters most. Your talent is icing on the cake. Your character is why so many people will ALWAYS love you! I’m a fan of YOU as a person. Blessings from Atlanta, GA.
Beautifully written ❤
slipped in good looks thinking we wouldn't notice

Jamal gave Ed the platform, and the rest is history.

Heartbreaking, a very sad touching song to a dear friend…that’s what you call heartfelt lyrics
Ed Sheeran is the best artist for our Generation. Been at 2 concerts in germany and cant wait to be at another one 🎉
First time I stumbled across ed was on sbtv - this is proper full circle man!
"You know I cry 'cause I miss mi brother" - I know we're all gonna be sobbing in less than an hour 😭
The pain in his voice ❤️🩹 Well done Ed. Rest Well Jemal
❤👊👍
This song is exactly what I needed to hear. I can relate my brother passed last year. The best song Ed sheeran has ever made. I can feel it all through this song. I’m sorry your hurting Ed
This gives me goosebumps every time and makes me cry. Ed’s pain is so honest and raw. Jamal was clearly an amazing man and an inspiration to many people. 💙
Goosebumps. The old intro, then them pianos come in… his name in the stands… RIP JAMAL.
I think this is the best song for years! So raw and heartfelt it’s so raw. I’m emotional listening! Hugs.
You can hear the pain in his voice! Inspiration! One day to hope play a song with you Ed ❤️
R.I.P Jamal Edwards you will never be forgotten and your legacy will carry on thank you for everything you did for Ed ❤❤❤❤
Gave me goosebumps and it’s only just started ❤️
Can't wait 🥺💙
One thing about Ed, he will ALWAYS deliver and so fitting that he's the first F64. That brotherhood between him and Jamal can't be replicated. Keep resting peacefully Jamal 💙🕊🙌🏾
his voice breaking at the last part has me crying on the floor
I remember seeing JE on the tube one day and him getting off at my stop. It blew my mind that I lived so close to a pioneer in the scene. From that day I would rehearse in my head what I would say to him next time I saw him. I wanted to tell him how important he was for us and how he is the reason our scene is so strong today. JE was ahead of his time. I just wanted to give him his flowers but I never got the chance. I hope he knew how much we all owe him.
We all questioned why we'd heard no tribute songs. This was it. This is all that was ever needed and more. Goosebumps.
Rest in eternal power Jamal 💔
Visting Hours brings tears to my eyes. ED certainly can write about REAL PAIN ❤
Absolute fire. So raw nobody does it like ed.
jamal was one in a million. This video needs to blow up and get its recognition
Was this really done in one take? If so - wow. Pure gold. RIP Jam.
What an extremely touching and emotional tribute to someone who clearly meant so much to ed. You can just feel the emotion.
This broke my heart. He is a legend. He had a massive impact in bare artists come up
Nice spin on propeller chorus , Ed’s talented like mad man. RIP Jamal edwards fr 🖤
wow bro respect for making this and honoring your mate no one can forget sbtv from my young teens i watched his thing grow its a shame he went so young rip jamal gone but never forgotten!
I met Jamal at a Mac Miller show in Oxford like 10 years ago, was super friendly and just out in the crowd having fun. So sad that both have now passed! Ed this is brilliant.
Incredibly sad, I didn’t even know Jamal & Mac knew each other but it’s just so tragic.
🥺🥺🥺...this is the speciality this singer..he writes song about bonds and relationships about friendship and moments about hatred and brotherhood he wrote about his life and that's what i appreciate...❤️❤️❤️ @Edsheeran
What a hard track to listen to. Ed, such an amazing tribute to Jamal 💔
The way you can hear his voice crack when he says “my brother was SBTV”. You can tell how painful it was for him to say that line.
What a legend this song touches deep!! ❤
Omg Ed still got it bruh. This reminds me when discoverd him. The GOAT
