Jack Anthony true!
RIP Jamal, this channel was and is a springboard for so many talented people's careers just like Ed here. Jamal and SBTV - truly appreciated! 🙌
Jamal is a work horse.
Imagine him setting up "SBTV in heaven” ready to receive all the artists who will pass.
RIP a great bright human light
RIP
Facts man
@@borntodoit8744 hopefully and sbtv Coolio collab
Legend
RIP Jamal Edwards. Giving us the likes of Ed and so many more artist through SBTV is legendary 😥 Rest easy mate 🙏
🙏 🙏
Rip 🌹
I'd like to thank Hot Ones for bringing me here for the first time.
And so would I
@@lubutobwalya5810 one more thankyou to Hot Ones
Yep just arrived from Hot Ones, and I have to RETURN since ... Ed had only eaten his second wing.
Same bro
I hope he goes all the way.
Man I was listening to this in 2010 revising for GCSEs - nostalgia lane - still insane he deserved all the fame he got
Me too mate, I left secondary in 2012. Feel like a pleb for saying it but what a time!
Yes Mondo one of the first I was I swear
See him busking in Norwich way back when
I was doing mkat:(
@@Daniel18773 weren't we all man
RIP Jamal. A true pioneer for the U.K. rap scene! I had to come straight here as this was my first SBTV video I watched 11 years ago 🙏🏻
I remember watching this 5 years ago thinkin this kid is fucking awesome. Wasn't wrong.
Same here man, insane.
I remember when this video had under 100k views.. still so good. Wasn't it this track that made both him and sbtv huge?
it a fucking big tune bro
Trust me my hairs still go crazy every time I watch this
Yh totally agree - shame it didn’t stay true to what he was doing... I mean hard ask with all the money etc to push this through but still... regardless... truly talented 👌
the title should be "You Need Me, I Don't Need You" - Ed Sheeran feat Ed Sheeran and Ed Sheeran Orchestra.
Patrick Kurniawan dont forget Rasta Man Ed Sheeran
YESSS 🤩🙌
With his talent it was inevitable that he would succeed. Nowadays he has the right to collaborate with whoever the hell he wants, he's earned it.
He worked his ass off to be where he is man, played 400 shows a year at some points. Perfect example of setting ones mind to something and going to get it. Mad respect for ed, even if you don't like his music you gotta admire his work ethic
+Amman Ahmed you fucking legend.
And now an estimated value of 57 million at least. He is living my dream.
Cast on the hill
@@kclawrance he's now worth a couple hundred million, what a ride he's been on
That's why SBTV is the best UK music channel! They diversify, they appreciate all genres of music!
nice :D
I remember watching this 8 years ago, thinking "this guy is going places". Now fast forward to 2018, being in 3 of his concerts...he still ends every concert with this song. And that says a lot, it's a "remember where you came from" song for him. He is still the same, humble singer-songwriter I fell in love with in 2010.
Millions of album sales later, this is still the definitive version of this tune.
Coming from the UK - this was the recording that blew up ed's career! Big love to SBTV always promoting the best
I had to come back to this video after hearing about Jamal. This was the first video that I remember watching on SBTV and I kept coming back to it time and time again. I loved this channel and seeing new artists get their chance to shine. I'm so sorry that Jamal is now longer with us but what a legacy he's left. He gave people a voice and a platform to reach millions... he's made a real impact in this world and I hope that gives his loved ones comfort. Rest in peace
Amen brother 🙏
notice how the 'Rasta Man Time' part all about blazing weed just so HAPPENS to start at 4:20 xD
+Abby Wilson It's a song called Red - Laid Blak
rasta man time? laid blak - red
brandon jones good song it is
+Blake Hagar speak like yoda you do
Kyle Devenish lmao
This is his best and most inspiring song by far. Remember him playing it at Board Masters festival, whilst being off my head! Fun times X)
Love it ❤️
Peoples champ!! Normal people telling stories is the best. Add fantastic music and you can appreciate good people like yourself . Take care. X
seriously though, that Rasta man ending was SICK!!
7 years later... And it's so hard to believe Ed was only 19 in this!!!! Look how far he's come. Forever in appreciation for Ed's insane talent and passion.
This video is where Ed blew up. There was so much hype from this video that even Radio 1 played the video on air for people to hear the song.
RIP Jamal, the art you've helped capture will be remembered.
Never gets old!
Never 😅😅
Ever!
Literally. Never!
Raw unbelievably amazing talent..... And hes smokes the green herb.... Expands the mind 🌿🌿💚💚😉🤣🤣🤣
You said it
why am I only finding this now omg he's honestly incredible
***** Ok if you say so lets face it your more bitchy than I will ever be
*keyboard warrior
Cause you're a let down hahaha!! This and the city were the first songs I heard!! Chillin in a car high hahaha I can't believe this is 7 years old now
@@2462bf214 years now
Who’s still listening to this after 11 years
And still finds it absolutely brilliant, just no words for this mans talent 👌
@Joe Harvill 👌👌👌

today is the first time I've heard it ;]
Me
I watched Ed live yesterday here in Dubai and it bought me back to this! I remember watching this as a 17 year old kid in Wolverhampton and thinking this isn't SBTVs normal "artist" what a journey this man has been on and all thanks to Jamal! This guy is a generational talent make no mistakes about it.
I remember watching this video in 2010. Everyone in the comment section was saying how big he was going to become. Now look at him. Flying the flag for SUFFOLK
East coast of England. Studied in Framlingham, where I went to school. Went to my junior school Brandeston Hall
Big up Suffolk
Nah he's a London boy
@chestermaverick Where Ed is from
@@FranklinFreshman Ed is from Suffolk
I like how he started from here and work his way up to being the biggest name in pop music today
Words can't explain how you many people you have inspired. I come back to this video every now and then to remind me why I do what I do. Long live Jamal Edwards. ❤
Ed's skill cannot be questioned.
i remember when this only had about 800+ views its mad how he has blew up so quickly i knew he would make it !
The amount of people’s lives Jamal Edward’s single handedly changed will live on forever. Forever the goat 🐐 rip my brother ❤️
Coming here after 'Eraser.' The story has changed and this kid is a man now, Jesus
Gutted doesn't cut it. R.I.P Jamal a true British legend and a gift of our generation.
Is that pop? Is that rap? Is that RnB?
That's MUSIC!
How has it been over 4 years since i first saw this...
yeah man its crazy how time flies by, kinda scary, but i feel old cuz of it
5 years now 😳
Wait.. what
Mee tooo How has it been 3 years im baffled
Callum Close I feel so old :'(
ed at his best this a one man band
Came here after the news. Jamal created something that will forever go down in history as an iconic platform for rappers everywhere. RIP Jamal! Thanks for the memories!
Since he can't be mine because he's totally out of my league, can I have a child as talented as he is?
***** smooth m8!:P
He's not fucking fat. My god people are ignorant...
***** It happens that I am not shallow, I like people for who they are, not for what they have or for their appearance. Ed is a terrific singer, intelligent, fights for what he wants and believes in, he's funny and a very good person and yes, I think he's hot as hell!
***** i want to get married if girlatwork isnt going to mary you. and NoHomo
***** LOL let's do it!
The level of difficulty to balance a guitar, loop pedal, and sing is beyond me. Ed is a GENIUS!!!!
I love how he changes the lyrics and adds things to the song to make it different from the original
CookiePowerr this is the original...
It is actually a bit different and longer than the original
You're wrong but ok
+BLZRDIFY Go watch the original on TH-cam, he adds stuff to this one.
Do you idiots think that the Radio cut is the original?
RIP Jamal. Absolute legend. He did more in 31 years than most would do in 31 lifetimes.
Saw Ed at Wembley on Saturday...Haven't stopped listening to him or been able to put my guitar down since. Ed, I think you've broken me...or maybe fixed me? haha!
Still got massive love for his SBTV stuff
Don’t worship mortal men. Being a fan is fine, but this is obsessions.
You’re a slave to someone that doesn’t even know you exist.
introduced this to my mates 6 years ago, always said he would be big! Now the guy's writing for Rhianna and taking over the top 10
14 years later and still one of the BEST songs on YT. Iconic
I’ve just rediscovered this banger and now I can’t stop playing it! I can’t say I’m a huge fan of his latest stuff but there is no hiding that this absolutely bangs 🔥
the 50cent verse made me smile haha Ed is on another level to most artists these days.
4 years ago??? Feels like this vid came out yesterday omg it's still my fave
Yip My Fav YT vid also
Aaliyah Sahra
Bruh its 2017 lmao 😂
8 years ago ;;
4 years ago since this comment was made. Weird....
Ed is one of the BEST things the UK has ever exported to the USA!
I loved Ed before this as a songwriter, knew he would be something special. Loved his early stuff. Then he released this and I was like this guy is on top of the world
Almost 6 years since this was done. Crazy to see how far he has come in 6 years. Respect.
5 years since I watched this, are you fucking serious?
What a guy; what an artist.
have to say although this is old I still think this is the most authentic ed sheeran track why they didnt release this version? I meen come on its way better than the track released love this guy credit to us british guys love him! :)
agreed it's his best one
I know! I hope he'll still play it live like this on his next tour.
Check out his latest one uploaded on the 28th of Feb on SBTV, even better than this
they couldn't release it because copyright , so he recreated it which is obviously you need me i don't need you

Remember Ed from this clip in a hectic year of my life. Strikingly good performance and I thought I'd never see him again, fast forward a few years and he'd become a global star with songs that, although I don't personally love them, shine through with the multifaceted talent that's audible here. He's got it.
10 years later this is still fire
It will never not be fire
Don't think people realise just how many songs from your favourite 'artists' have been composed by Ed...
Ed Sheeran is one of those rare artists that sound better live. The world needs more of those.
Remember fondly singing this with my boys 11 years ago, it was the heart and soul of every night we spent together, what a song, what an artist, what a memory
Sheeeettt!?! SEVEN yrs old and it still sounds sick. Such a talent. Anything this boy can't do?
2016 still listening, my eyes are still red.
there is no better version of this song, why I don't know he didn't bring this out instead of the legit single. This is where its at ! pure awesomeness
This guy deserved to make it big. Thank God he did.
Omg, I'm watching this again at 2016, so proud!!
he's pretty awesome
That accent when he raps 😂👌🏼 YES ED
We all know of that person in your friendship group that claims to have discovered all the “breakthrough” artist before they made it big. Jamal, was the REAL DEAL! It doesn’t matter what genre. They went through the Don. I can’t believe his gone. Rest in Power Mr Edwards
I remember my mate sharing this on Facebook when it first came out, watching it and thinking he's gonna be a star. What a career he's had so far. Big up SBTV for giving him a platform.
This is where it all began with ed, this is talent people!!
I remember watching this before Sheeran hit the 'big time'... Now he either 'went mainstream' or 'mainstream came to him'. I think the latter. Mainstream came to Ed. What a talented artist.
The Energy was so much to handle that's why the mic stand is also dancing
I saw him live at a side stage at Rock Werchter in 2012. He was the underdog act everyone was talking about after his show. I went there because of a girl I’d met and became an instant fan. After the festival she sent me this video and it brings back all the good memories of those times.
Wild how quickly the last 7 years have gone. I was in first year at Uni when this came out, SB was just blowing up, Ed was unknown, now look. Maud.
Still coming back…. 2023! My Eyes Red, I’ve been burning ❤
Pure unadulterated raw talent , immense.
"I'll never be a product of my genre, my mind will always be stronger than my songs are", I think it was after i first heard him say this i became a proper fan
7 years later and still one of my favorite songs he's come so far so proud
@@edsheeranfanschatahahahahah
Seriously, I think Ed has about 3 or 4 lungs
Hieu Tran ikr
Nope
And like 3 mouths
Hieu Tran Godzilla be like
That’s impossible. Don’t open your mouth if you haven’t got anything sensible to say
Ed's such a legend, he's still amazing 7 years later and he will be for years to come!! Love him so much❤️
I discovered this in 2024 after hearing F64. I was stunned to hear Jimal laughing with joy at the end of this track. That joy is immortal. Peace and love.
Amazing to see how much he grown in just 4 years...
Hello Thanks for your lovely like and comments on my page, it’s great to know I have such a devoted fan like you. Much appreciated where are you from? How long have you been my fan.💋🌹😍❤️❣️🌹😎
Remember being shown this before anyone had ever really heard of this dude by a friend who passed away before ever getting to see Sheeran blow up, still think about it all the time to this day. Rip bmonk
I liked how he sang so fast and the nice guitar sounds combined with the beat’s. 👍
im so glad this is recorded, we can enjoy like if we were in that private room. Such a natural
I love Ed Sheeran, a great example of jus being a nice person will get you far. Talents 💯👣🍒🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙊🙉🙈💚💚🌍🌍🌍💯
For anyone wondering, the second part of the song is 'Red' by Laid Blak- I'd recommend you give it a listen :)
He does make people need him!
Came here after Eraser's F64.. it's crazy how he became the greatest artist of his time! This Ed must've been so proud of his 30 years old self
2020 and he’s still as talented and humble as ever. Levels
ED IS AMAZING AMAZING he deserves all the awards out there
Wish I could go back to my life when this first came out. Much simpler times.
Can't believe how he went from busking in Woodbridge and other areas. Now super star. Proud to be from Suffolk
It is mental what you can do with a loop pedal
He's not a rapper he's a singer with the flow
And no one likes you
Jordan Hannay it’s from one of his songs
And song writer and producer
Rest In Peace Jamal, a true pioneer and legend of the UK scene always and forever.
RIP Jamal, sbtv coasted me through my teenage years, will be sorely missed❤️
Almost 5 Years since this got released holy shit i feel old now
LukeConnerton - FIFA 17 Trading Tips + FIFA 17 Ultimate Team Videos hi Luke
Had to rewatch this after his new collab with 50 and em the mans a legend 🐐🐐🐐
This is still awesome 14 years later. Wow what a perfomance
Ed Sheeran and KT Tunstall need to have a loop pedal battle...Now that would be epic.
Still gives me goosebumps every time he plays this
Whenever Ed is rapping I'm like "when are you BREATHING" like jesus christ
so proud to say that s how i discovered ed sheeran and fall in love with his talent ,the guy is amazing seriously sick ,can’t stop listening to him
I remember telling my frieds this dude gonna blow up and they laughed
