Hello, C & C: Growing up in North Bay, we started taking French in grade 4 because we were close to the border and there was a large French population. This had a nice sound and was very pleasant. I'm guessing they were singing using 'proper' French because I was almost able to follow it. It's a tragedy that your mother didn't teach you, IMO. Back in the mid 60s, there was a fun song on the radio called, 'Je Bois De L'eau Dans Mon Lit D'eau' (I drink water in my water bed) by Patrick Zabé. th-cam.com/video/9q26KhFD1I0/w-d-xo.html That would be a good, old French song to do. Also, Lucille Starr had a hit with, 'The French Song' which is very nice.
