Steve Hytner is a great guy. I had the pleasure of hanging out with him and opening for him. He even invited me to stay in his houses. Of course his character is a dweeb, but the man himself, Steve is awesome
Years ago I had all the episodes recorded onto VHS TAPES....so I could watch them every night after work....with NO commercials. Best show ever. Up there with the Andy Griffith Show, with the great character Barney Fife.
Never saw Elaine's BIG SALAD @5:50 when I watched this show in the 90's lol. It's huge, tomatoes like volleyballs. Little details to pick up on in these clips makes it even funnier.
Jerry always listened to his friends, who mostly got him in trouble. But also, there's a good possibility Jerry kept close touch with them primarily for the material.
Fred Stoller wrote this episode, based on a real life experience with fellow comedian Bruce Smirnoff. Bruce, who was infamously cheap, gave stoller a new suit and he just had to treat him to lunch. Bruce stringed fred for multiple free lunches till Fred had enough. Fred found out later the suit was not worth 1,000 dollars, instead Bruce bought it for 150 at a closeout warehouse.
So it was Elaine who is responsible for Jerry taking the suit (with secondary support of George), and Kramer puts the pants right on the kitchen chop block.
They always do this to each other too. Lol Like when Kramer egged on Jerry to lend Elaine money so she could pay the rent to move into the apartment building. When Kramer convinced Elaine she could run the J Peterman catalog.
I tell you to be able to think of weird topics and finding weirder characters is genius. Hahaha. Laughing my head off just like the 1st time I watched it.
Kramer’s interaction with Bania in the department store is a perfect example of why Kramer is so likeable. Even though Bania is annoying and detestable, Kramer treats him kindly and even hypes him up when he says he’s been working out.
I think we've all had a Bania in our lives at some point. I broke my Bania"s nose and he still skirts me wide all these years later. Shame I didnt think of it sooner.

I was at an open mic one time. A new comedian like Kenny walked up to me and asked how I'm doing I just shook my head no. He said "It's not a yes or no question." I replied "Please leave me alone." He was like "That's funny! Can I use that?" smh
