- Shane Catalano's tyre shredding Blown Small Block Mopar has an Idle that will make any petrol head drool.. Entering a car show the car breaks traction at Idle as the Blown 340 Hunts with all of the Boost rammed down its Neck.... Turn up the volume and check this out!!!!

Ya but he's got the barrel valve adjusted like that on purpose. It doesn't have to idle that way...........but who gives a freaking flip it's bad ass chirping around like that and is a lil preview as what it will do next...........finish murdering the tires !!!

When you've got so much power at your feet you're doing mini burnouts just lurching at idle...that is fucking awesome
Its surge from the fuel cycle leaning out and going rich at idle it has nothing to do with power.
My uncle built a Dodge Dart from the ground up and it did this, and spun the tires when you'd put it in drive and hold the brake down. R.I.P. Uncle Scott, best vehicle mechanic I knew !
what's crazy is if you look at the butterfly's on his intake during the burnout at the end, he might have been at quarter throttle
Some cars are set up to only be quarter way open, with the petal to the floor
Doesn't take much to light up an empty ute, and this guy's got enough mumbo to light up a concrete truck.

partial throttle with a big blower hat like that in a lot of cases would be better. helps with air velocity.

Don't get me wrong I like Chevy, but Mopar Raw horsepower has been holding for 60 years and when combined with 14-71 Roots style blower, nitromethane and methanol they wake up into a track burning monster.
That is the singular most intimidating car i've seen in my entire life.

Stall on torque converter is way too low thats why it chirps the tires at idle. Not practical for a real drag car, but its not set up for that. Its set up for show as a burnout car only. With that said its still bad ass!
Best idle/chirp, idle/chirp, etc. ect. I've ever seen. Awesome!

The surge is caused by an improperly adjusted barrel valve on the injector hat. Shorten the turnbuckle on the left side of the injector approx. 1/2 turn and the idle will settle to a steady cadence. The idle adjustment has no affect on wide open throttle operation. Some people think it's so cool but as you can see it isn't very controllable.

go to dragparts.com, technical, then fuel injection, blown, it tells how to adjust the "turnbuckle" to set your idle fuel. The turnbuckle on a WWE ring is a bit larger. Good un' though.

Ya he needs to tune that blower and get it right, but he is also setting it up for high rpms so idling and slow drivin are a bitch. :)

yes I will admit it's surging more than normal. but maybe that's how he has it setup... if you watch the end and listen closely it sounds pretty healthy for what it's used for
Funny if you watch tull the end you can tell it's tuned quite well. If you knew anything about blower motors you would know it wouldn't run like that if not tuned well. And yes you could make it quit jumping idling but why would you?
