I like the little Fiesta - definitey in my price range. Transmissions were those terrible dual clutches that Ford got sued over.

I have to agree with Randy on this video. There are plenty of cheap run and drives. My best friend and I just walked the Copart Lot here in Atlanta a couple of days ago. So we found a 1996 Toyota Avalon w/97,000 original miles. Services on that car is still current. Very clean car in and out. Of course runs and drives. It was a donation car. The family of an elderly woman (whom had recently this year passed away) donated the car to the auction because they had a hard time selling it themselves. The starting bid on that car was $450.

    Randy
Thank you for all you do.
My wife and I watch your show everyday.
You was talking about people turning their cars back in.
I had a business for over 20 years.
Last November 30 my wife had a heart attack they air lift her to another hospital.
Open heart surgery 4 bypasses she had a stroke during surgery. She list half of her vision in right eye and a quarter vision lost in left eye. I got her home Dec 13.
About Jan 13 th had to rush her to the hospital where they did surgery. She had bad infection. Opened her back up 4 surgery in 10 days. They saved her life again. She spent 6 weeks in nursing home. I got her home last March. She is doing good. I am her primary care.
We had to file bankruptcy still dealing with this. We lost everything get to keep are home.
Just to let you know. Not everyone has just turns in their vehicle without a reason. It's a battle my brother loaned us his old motor home that is how we get around.
    But we will make it.

10:29 unfortunately Randy, that OnStar became obsolete around December of last year; any GM vehicle from 2006-2014 suffered the exact same fate as vehicles equipped with Analog OnStar and completely lost any and all support because they were equipped with 2G or 3G cellular modules. And you know what OnStar’s solution for it was? A halfassed cell phone app that doesn’t work with all phones or vehicles! The infuriating part is that they actually came up with a hardware based solution IN CANADA! All they have to do is swap out ONE module (the VCIM) to upgrade it to 4G LTE or 5G!

The Fiesta was owned by a naval aviator. Look at the front plate. I served among those guys. Those guys maintained their possessions. That is why it looks so nice. I would think the timing belt should have been done, however.

Def enjoying the vids! The Focus and Fiestas you can get cheap but I purposely bought a 2017 model year Focus. It was a steal price with 54k miles from the dealer and I went in knowing the issues. It has the original transmission, TCM, and clutch at 77k now. On 2012-2016 Ford compacts the TCM's are the older design that fries on the regular. The 2017-2018 Ford Power shifts have a better TCM from factory, but can still have clutch shuddering issues and drive crappy. I think that Fiesta is clicking bc the TCM is fried and the electronic clutch is going crazy. On 2017-2018 Ford cars if you can live with that annoying clutch shuddering and lurching shifts you can drive the wheels off it for cheap!! Have driven my Focus a ton this past year. The A/C compressor is the only major issue last 20+ k miles knock on wood.

That Fiesta has a naval aviation tag and the "H" with the circle on the back looks like a helipad, im betting this was a pilots car, we drive cars like this and they sit in lots forever until we get back, that explains the leaves and why the gas tank area is clean and the car is taken car of but is a base model. Pilot probably came back from a trip and car was damaged

I haven't ever bid on a vehicle from Copart or IAA because I don't want to pay the fee.. lol, but yeah, if you're willing to buy beat up vehicles with 200k miles, it can definitely be done.

All I drive is older cars. I buy them cheap and fix them up! My winter car is a 2000 Windstar van. It has 240k on it and paid $500. The Windstar had some problems I fixed and put tires on it. Over the last three years I put new parts totaling around $500, so I have $1000 dollars in it. I had a bad head on my 2000 Ranger and it's fixed and running, so I will be running the Ranger 3.0 l, my Prius and Cargo Ebike. I figure the cars will last for years. I drive the cars 2000 miles a year and the local riding is done on the Ebike. Ebike is going into year 11.

Yea when it comes to auctions you can get some cheap deals on vehicles that are in decent condition, but when it comes to non auctions thats where you cant find any cheap reliable beaters anymore, couple years or so ago i would always find reliable vehicles for cheap, i personally have bought alot, fact most i ever spent on a vehicle was no more than $1000, now especially in the same area i lived some years ago,i cant find anything like that and if i do they either need some major work or they have no title, so in my opinion you are right, but so is the ones sayin you cant find any cheap vehicles anymore. Back in the late 1970's and through the 1980's my wife and I were newly-weds, with not a lot of money. Back then you could buy a perfect body and interior car with say 70,000 miles on it for 400.00 to 500.00 dollars and drive it for years. We had a few. and they gave us no problems. Wish it was still like that.

The auctions arent over so these prices dont mean crap. Follow up with SOLD prices, including fees and then I'll believe.
