Now that you mention it, if Ginyu were to switch with a fusion, would his body still separate into two when the fusion ends? Or would he only trade places with one of the halves and switch to that half when the fusion ends?

It was very nice of Ginyu to continue Gogeta's task of out-nuking everyone else's super after that body switch.
Real talk though, what would happen if Ginyu switched with somebody who was fused and then that fusion splits? Does Ginyu multiply himself or do both fusers have half of his intelligence or something?
my head canon is
after genyu body swaps with gogeta he stays as gogeta for the 30 min then defuse back into goku and vegeta.
but goku and vegeta are the same as always the only difference is that whenever they try to fuse back to gogeta the result will always be genyu in gogeta's body
He'd stay fused like Zamasu did.
