    She might be missremembering the scene in Congo where the humans are rafting down a jungle river, and they are attacked by hippos, and several people are killed. In real life, hippos are way more dangerous than Crocs, and have a way higher kill count.

    I really enjoyed Lake Placid, and I am really enjoying hearing Chelsea and James tear it a new one. When I saw Lake Placid, I was younger, and didn't have nearly the same awareness of cliche's and clumsy dialog that I have now. It was fun action for me, just like all of the positives they've pointed out in the movie. Watching it again now, I can appreciate how bad the dialog was, and have a fun time breaking the movie down, and it does nothing to hurt the enjoyment it gave me when I was younger. I don't have to defend it to justify enjoying it then. Love this podcast.

    James needs to do kill counts for “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later”

    • @jimmyb5025
      @jimmyb5025 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Then email him :) deadmeatmovie@gmail.com is the only way to request.

      he has a schedule of movies he actually did a video on all the movies he is going to cover i think for the rest of the year, but yes requesting Kill counts on the youtube comments is not going to work. Also, I bet you will get you're request answered quicker if you become a Patreon and support him and his crew that put out the kill counts you want to begin with.

  • @Gr8tBlueHeron

    Hahaha, I felt personally called out by this, because the dialogue was one of my favourite parts about it! I thought the characters played off each other so well, the timing was great, and the over-the-top dramatic one liners were entertainingly self aware.
    But listening to your criticism, I laughed all the harder because I had to concede that you were right on this part of dialogue, and okay, THAT was a good point, and fine, that criticism made sense too.
    So I still love the film, now I just feel guilty about it!

      Especially the Syfy film: The "Sharknado" films are a cult classic that evolved from the SyFy Channel, while "Lake Placid: Legacy" is NOT, as it was an out-and-out cash grab.

    When I rewatched this and Anaconda as an adult I was surprised I almost enjoyed Lake Placid more so I was pretty bummed you didn't enjoy it much, but you guys made a lot of good points on why Anaconda is technically a better movie lmao. Oh well! I guess it's just one of those nostalgia things, I love their over the top sarcastic banter and stereotypical characters, it's part of the joke for me! Love all your content, I'm happily making my way through the catalogue

    Holy fucking shit James/Chelsea/whoever does the thumbnails, you are my hero. I have had that exact shot/image burned into my mind ever since I was a child and for the life of me I could never remember what it was from. The word James was looking for at 22:16 was _"Croc-omplis"._
    _See: 'Crocomplis'. Definition: "an Accomplis in a Crocodile Murder case."_
