Got one 11 weeks ago can’t believe how amazing this bread are my brother passed away suddenly & was looking them for a couple years & called him after my brother his name is Dougie & can’t believe how much he reminds me of him
11month brindle OEB. Just a bundle of joy until bedtime, double bed between me missus and dog and dog is always in middle and deadweight on the quilt. Always have to wake up kick her off the bed to get back under quilt to stay warm and then she jumps back on. Loves her to bits though
As long as it’s done when they are very young, and that the tools used in the procedure as well as the area the procedure is done in is sanitary, but most of all I would want it done by someone who knows what the hell they are doing lol…
"Bulldogs" are very popular these days, but I would caution people that have NEVER owned one to NOT get a pure blooded ENGLISH Bulldog as they are a real challenge in more ways than one. The biggest issue first of all is if you insist on an ENGLISH pure blood, MAKE SURE you are dealing with a longtime and knowledgeable breeder as these pure blooded ENGLISH dogs have enough issues, mostly health, and if you deal with a breeder who is not 100% reputable and has not been SUPER careful with their breedings and bloodlines, you will get a dog that will COST YOU literally THOUSANDS in vet bills over their life AND you will spend loads of time on their grooming in order to keep their wrinkles free of yeast and fungal infections, their ears ditto, their paws ditto and let us not forget the butt care as well. You MUST keep all of these super clean and dry EVERYDAY. So if you have plenty of money for vets and plenty of patience and time to properly maintain grooming care and you don't care if once your cute puppy becomes an adult that you will constantly have to be very careful what you feed and how much you feed as they are voracious eaters and gain weight VERY easily as they age and their activity level goes WAY down. So all that said, I think if you still want a Bulldog, it is sensible to look into the OLDE ENGLISH Bulls as they still have great cuteness, great personalities, but do not have NEARLY the issues with health and grooming and because they are built more on an athlete frame, and have longer and straighter legs, and longer snouts to breath better with they are then much more able to keep up with playing and walking and other exercise. My brother has wanted an ENGLISH Bulldog for decades. He recently retired and started researching. Although he loves all the English videos like RUEBEN the Bulldog, he has admitted that he is not up for the devotion and constant care of the original ENGLISH. Then recently , another family member was given an adult ENGLISH but could not keep it as the kids became allergic, so they asked my brother would he like to have him. We knew little about his life and what kind of shape he was in, but we opted to give him a whirl anyway since there was no dropping of a couple of thousand dollars to get him . so we figured potential vet bills would be okay since he was free. We have had him for two months, he has his issues, he is well behaved except for the tendency to "hump" when he gets excited, he is SUPER well housebroken, cage trained and a character. But we have already spent almost a thousand on the vet in these two months as his ears were a mess with infection, one eye was in terrible shape, and he was massively overweight. We had him get all shots as we did not have any medical records on him and we had bloodwork done to see about his overall health as well as xrays to check on his bones . We are working on all these things and are really glad we got him for free. We opted to feed him the BEST kibble available supplemented with raw green beans a bit of sweet potato and lightly cooked meats such as breast of chicken and calves liver in small amounts. The only treats are either carrot or apple. Even though he doesn't have the massive wrinkles that need constant attention he still has some wrinkle needs and we are glad they are not terribly difficult. What we do for him is enough, cannot imagine if he had all the "typical" grooming needs that most of them do. He has almost no tail so we are spared the butt job cleaning as well. He will be around for maybe 3-4 years as he is around 6 right now. When the time comes that he goes to doggy heaven, I think we have decided to go with an OLDE ENGLISH next time, and get a puppy so we can bond early on and keep up with ALL the right diet and exercise and care to be able to enjoy the dog more. The one we have now is not interested in going for walks at all, he does love to ride in the cars though. Good luck in choosing the right breed, and the right Bulldog style if you are craving to own one.
Oh man, they are so cute! I love that these furry kids dont have the breathing problems of the plain English, and American bulldogs!!
