- Hello everyone we are back , this time we got a vintage True Temper Kelly Handmade axe head we made a beautiful new handle out of curly Redwood , with our design as a work of art for collection or display and we show you demonstrate basic tooling skills.

So cool! Based on the stamp I do believe that would have been an axe purchased by the utility company Pacific Gas and Electric on the west coast.

Beautiful axe handle ! Just wondering about the grain direction? I wouldn’t swing it too hard.
Thank you. Actually the wood grain is quite best pattern , the pattern you see like the tiger skin pattern is a special feature of this type of wood which we like very much.👍
grain direction doesnt mean shit
@@schlomoshekelstein908 if the grain is going left to right on an axe handle and you swing it really hard it will snap . You clearly no nothing about wood structure.
@@jasonb4350 if i show you a united states foresty service manual that shows the strengths and weaknesses of each wood that was published in 1913 and had an anecdote that says grain orientation has no bearing on the strength of wood handles will you believe me?

We are sorry. This was designed as a showpiece rather than for practical use.

The video was cool until the part where the guy was rubbing it up and down like some perverted axe murderer. Anyways are you guys from the Philippines? If so is there plenty of timber to be needing an axe like that?

nice job, great looking handle, but the epoxy glue... unnecessary and idiotic. if that handle needs replacing some time, it will be such a struggle to get the wood off the eye again.

It wont be a struggle, all you have to do is to heat it, with steam, hot gun or whatever. The epoxy will come off.
