These are the type of videos I love from this channel
Just found your channel - BRILLIANT video - you made that look so easy 🙂
I think that if I was doing production work, I'd start with a Lathe and a slightly oversized handle profile template. Then shape the ovate profile tuned to the grain direction.
I was expecting a few shavings before watching this one, but I have to admit the layout technique is really well explained, no matter stock removal produces dust or whatever else ! Thanks for sharing.
Its a matter of time, pure and simple.
Was looking rough at first, but shaped out nicely. Thanks for the tips. I don't have either of the sanders/grinders you used, but still got some valuable insite. Thanks.
Welcome!
I use a knife a saw and drill with sanding bits. 😁
Great information just what I’ve been looking for cheers
Waiting for part 2
Great video. I am going to try to use my drill lathe. Thank you

Why is that coffee pot empty! Great video
Thanks for the video very helpful
Is there a part two? To finish the handle??
Great video, cool way to make a handle
Good to see ya man, been missing your videos
Yeah, good to be back
Love the video. Hate the mid-roll ads.
fair enough, and here everytime I was trying to round I was doing a constant spin, and my stuff keeps coming out off center ovals, for my props, and the lath is only so big for fitting stuff on to make round.
Cold I am 2 hours due west of Atlanta- it was freakin cold earlier this week. In 60’s today
You can really stretch a quick job out.
Hi what is a good type of wood to use? I have a lot of pine? But strength? Any reply appreciated. Love your vids. I've learned a lot of info from you.ive made a machete with high carbon steel. Make a forge. Also restoration of a bowie hunting knife. I reground the blade, made a nice new handle. Original was plastic! ( hollow) as well. ALCE brand. Looks real custom now. Excellent tutorials! Cheers from Australia 🙂👍👍👍
My papaw had a pee-can. It was a old rusty Butternut coffee can he kept under the bunk at his hunting shack. :)
I’ve tried Red cedar with no luck I went to put the wage in the hammer head and it just broke all the hell
Come to Canada bud
My proto body hammer needs a fresh handle, this should be good!
Which woods are best for hand carving hammer handles? I'm talking very basic, primitive tool making here
GRACIAS GRACIAS GRACIAS
2 questions could the entire process be done on a drum sander, different grits of course?
Is your leather stitching horse painted silver?
Did you ever say the dimensions of the blanks before you start ?
Did part two ever get made?
So where's part 2?
Same here..... Where's party 2?👍
wow you are really cool
That onlyfans link was funny as hell
Great video and very informative. Question: where do you get your sanding belts. I'm having a heck of a time finding good sanding belts that either won't last past a few pieces of material or just plain fly apart while sanding.
Look up "Pops Knife Supplies", great folks and good belts
What size stock did you start with?
I would rather use hand tools. A rasp, draw knife, files and use the belt sander for finishing and smoothing
Make a video 👍
What kind of wood is that?
When you put the addition on wasn’t the winter warm enough you guys were leaving the walls unsheeted for when it was hot in summer for the breeze, now that’s it’s freezing are you getting them covered or did you get that done earlier?
We did it several weeks ago.
Is White Oak good for hammer handles ?
So I bought a sanding roller for my bench grinder to make a handle. Then realized hammers are only $6 and I spent like $50 for the sanding setup. lol
i was wondering if ironwood is good for making a handle out of it? since i have a big piece thta has been sitting for 20 YEARS! so if u see this please tell me
I would guess so from a quick online search, I’d say give it a try.
Great Job on the Hammer Handle ! More good information !
How do I order your BOOK ???

Thank you , Thank you ,
Thank you !
How long is the hammer wood?
Can you tell me what is the other dimensions of the blank besides the 15 inches long?
Sure, 1.25 x 1.5!
*insert sanding wood joke here*
Cool to watch but I don't have a huge belt sander and two nice oscilating drum sanders. I got chisels and saws and a rasp and box of old sanding paper. Guess I'll go make me a sandwich.
Im sorry, could you repeat that, I couldnt hear you over this loud whine.
