You've got a tough job. Lived in Rancho Vista for 10 years in the mid '90s to mid '00s. Changed dramatically. The AV needs more industry so the parents can be home with the kids after school.
I currently live in Palmdale on the east side. I mistakenly left my front screen door and main door opened for two weeks while on a business trip. When I came back to Palmdale to my house, thankfully, nothing was touched! My house was safe from robbers and I live alone. Palmdale in 2010, my house cost $105,000.00. As of Nov 2022, the same house cost approximately $433,000.00 and up in my area for 3 BR 2 Bath., 2 car garage. There’s dinning, some entertainment, and a few things for kids in Palmdale/Lancaster. Santa Clarita is only a 30 minute drive w more robust activities.
I’ve been living up here in Palmdale over 30 something years so I’ll be honest with u it’s great living up here for or family ,because I whited a more easy going life ,every one things it’s cheaper but it’s not ,,,,home out here cost over 500,000 thousands or more ok with the new high interest-rate be very careful
Theres an extreme lack of employment and little to no competitive wages. Anyone who purchases a home in Palmdale should look forward to 2 to 2 1/2 hour commutes (when there are no accidents). Better get a hybrid.
We moved to Palmdale in 1963, I was one year old, my Dad bought a house in Palmdale in 1963 for $11.5k, we lived in that house until I graduated high school in 1980 and we sold the house for $82.5, Our house was broke into twice, the house recently sold for $400k so my parents did well. In 1980 the crime ''Gangs'' got so bad in Palmdale we moved away. I would never live in California again specifically Palmdale I witnessed teachers getting shot, I was stabbed in the back for no reason by someone I didn't even know, my best friend was shot at Littlerock Dam. I don't care what anyone say's Palmdale is bad news. Too many Gangs Period.
I lived in Lancaster, 10-miles north of Palmdale, from 1976 to 2010. Unless you and your wife are former Navy Seals, find a decent place to live. Its a very dangerous shit hole.
