    I'm graduating in May 2024. Just finished adults2 clinical last week;90 hrs on cardiac telemetry unit, I loved it. Although it seemed like the pts were all there with HF and on the same meds. I might start here as a new grad and eventually get into the CSICU. I also enjoyed the cath lab

    Wow, you don’t know how much I needed this. This was SO informative and I appreciate you so much for this! I start my first nursing residency job on a Cardiac PCU floor in January, and although it’s my speciality, I’m somewhat anxious! Thank you!!! ❤️❤️

    Thanks for the video. I'm switching from home health to telemetry. I will start my orientation very soon. Is there a book that you recommend that I read?

    Hello thank you for uploading very informative video I had some quick questions I wanted to ask if u don't mind answering I would really appreciate it
    1. Do cardiovascular nurse practitioners work with babies like infants or is that only pediatric cardio nurse practitioner
    2. Is the education expensive ? And how much is like the average cost
    3. Can nurse practitioners prescribe medicine
    4. What degrees are like required for cardio nurse practitioner

    • @freshrn
      @freshrn  ปีที่แล้ว

      1. They can work with babies IF they are an FNP - family nurse practitioner. If they specialized in adult care, they would not be able to care for kids.
      2. Average in-state NP school cost is $35K
      3. Yes
      4. You would need either your Masters of Science in Nursing or your Doctorate of Nursing Practice and have to pass a board examination. Your NP program MUST have an APRN track and it cannot be a general MSN. I have a general MSN and did not get the extra coursework to become an NP so I cannot work as one.

    What do i do when a provider doesn’t pick up the phone?

    • @freshrn
      @freshrn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try again in 20 min, then the next step depends on your hospital policy. You may call the medical director, or someone else in their practice.

    Can a LPN work in the cardiac floor?

    • @freshrn
      @freshrn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This depends on the hospital and whether or not they hire them. Yes, they could but just would be limited the tasks they can complete, but I think the challenge would be finding a hospital that hires them onto units.

    Do you have a video like this for med-surg?

    • @freshrn
      @freshrn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have this video of top tips for new grads! It's not a walk through of a shift, but offers med-surg tips. Much more content on med-surg to come in the near future! Link: th-cam.com/video/gx_rtdpb0w0/w-d-xo.html
