- Howdy, folks. If you usually tune in for stick and poke tattooing content, this is the reason I'm a month behind on my ignorant style sleeve project. I work a full time job, and on my days off in September I was prepping costumes and props for this event. I had such a good time, I wanted to share the bit of footage we recorded with you. (I'm also switching from Adobe Rush to Premiere, so this was a good project to start learning that program on.) Please forgive my sound dips and black frames, just wanted to get this out there so I can spend the rest of my weekend tattooing!
Wasteland Weekend is a Mad Max style post apocalyptic festival that happens outside California City in the Mojave desert the last week of September. This was my first year, I volunteered for my entry with the body shop outside of the command center and took part in a small amount of the shenanigans. Witness! Stealing a helicopter, wandering the city and the surrounding camps, going on quests, getting tramp stamps, and more!

Hey, great video. This year was supposed to be our first year going but a family thing got in the way so we didn't make it. Next year. I've been watching all the videos and it looks totally crazy and I want to go so bad. We live in Colorado so its not the short drive from LA that you guys have. I have so many questions but Ill just ask, most videos say that everyone takes real time money but you said they only barter and don't take money. So what's that about? Did you mean just the body shop? Can you explain the quest thing? What quests did you do? Anyway, thanks for the video, very cool. See you in 2023.
Hey- so there are some artisans that want green paper money for big items, like custom costume parts. Some of the food places outside the city are also cash. But stuff like the body shop, drinks, small goods, we're all barter. I think I only spent cash on a bag of ice and some patches. Bartenders didn't even want cash a tips. So it might depend, I was prepared with food so I didnt need to buy too much of it. Quests are all over the place, my bottle quest was all verbal. I met someone who sent me on that one. The altars I stumbled upon and someone explained them to me. I would suggest starting at the post office and delivering some mail! That's a straightforward quest and it helps you explore as well as meet people. See you there next year!
i have not been To WW but i go to the oklahoma atomic falls, I am wounder if i could ask a question? i notice in most of your shots you are in a jacket. I wonder how hard it is to wear a full costume when its crazy hot? I guess thats the mission tho right to stay in Char when you are there. thanks for the Vod your perspective is alot different then most vods i have seen. I want to go some year.
