- Howdy folks and welcome to Woody's Corner!
In this slide show video, we showcase the before and after pictures of the full renovation we have done to our wonderful bird! We were fortunate as the new flooring material had already been completed by the previous owner. In addition, the cabinets were already a beautiful neutral color, and served as the basis of the interior color scheme that we built upon. The 80's dated blue color on the vinyl and bathroom all had to go! The exterior paint job was also a big improvement.

beautiful
Thanks for watching!
I glad I stayed and watched! I’m usually a keep as it was person! However, your hard work and creativity really made your Bird come alive! Beautiful bus!! Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for watching!
Did a great job nice work tastefully appointed
Thank you for watching and the nice comment!
She is a beauty!!
We are proud of her! Thanks!
Beautiful bus. Wanderlodge’s are my favorite Motorcoach.
Thanks for watching!
England calling. It's absolut;y fantastic. A Wonderlodge is pretty rare here in the UK ( I lived in AZ for a while), Love the way you have approached the interior. my only comment would be it's a shame Wonderlodge use strighr corners on the panels around the windows but maybe colour would blend them in to the sorrounding colours or maybe its just the photo's make them stand out. Just remember to keep the King pins well greased. Scott at Bus Grease Monkey is a whizz with these chassis.
Very best to you all & enjoy
Peter & Rayne
That's the coolest night time dashboard I've ever seen
Thanks for watching! The Wanderlodge has definitely got the most interesting dash setup for sure!
You did a beautiful job. God bless you enjoy
Thanks for watching!
What a beautiful transformation. You should be very proud to own that Black Bird. :)
Thanks for watching Jay, we are really proud of her!
great job on the paint!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Very nicely done.
Thank you!
I just bought an older rig too, a 1989 Prevost motorhome. Gonna be going thru it nose to tail, wingtip to wingtip when it gets warmer. So looking forward to it. So much more personality with older rigs if you can work on 'em yourself.
Hard to beat an old Bird, though...love it!👍💪
Thanks for watching! I have stepped in to a Prevost and they are definitely very cool too. Have fun!
What an amazing renovation! Making the coach both mechanically sound and tastefully decorated, modernized just enough, but not too much. I wish I had the time and the space for a project like yours...thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful Coach!!!
Thank you!
I was traffice manager at Bluebird for about 6 years and I really love that coach. I brought in most of the parts for the school bus and some Wanderlodge parts and I remember the days when this was the most sought after coach because of its durability. The real secret of any coach is exactly what you are doing. Keep up the maintenance.
Thanks for watching! We love our Wanderlodge! They are amazing for sure.
Enjoyed the video. Great work!!!!!
Thanks Matthew!
What a great job you did! It is a beautiful coach and one that will bring you much joy.
Thank you for watching!
Wow, beautiful job folks!
Thanks for watching!
Nice to see the old wanderlodge restored. They we're really one of the few who got it right back in the 80s
Thanks for watching Bubba, they are truly remarkable and so well built for sure!
Beautiful!!! Great job , guys. I know exactly what you have accomplished. I have spent the last few years completely rebuilding/painting a 1993 Newell coach. I hope to see you on the road someday!!!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Spectacular !
The interior/exterior reno looks amazing !
It's so comfortable & elegant looking.
Great job !
Thanks for the nice comments and watching the video!
What fun! You both did an amazing job - congratulations!
Thanks Shauna!
Please take it easy and be safe and thank you for the video be looking for the new ones down the road Ky
My mom and I want to travel to trying to find one to in our budget to fix one up it hard if you don't have help. Still looking
It is a lot of work, but if you are handy it helps for sure! Thanks for watching and good luck on your future RV!
Nice Job, I like your documentation, I have a 1990 WB hope to see you at WOG Rally in Pine Mountain, GA
Thanks for watching, we hope to get to our first rally sooner than later for sure!
Wow, nice work!
Thanks Larry! We are finally launching some content. Learning a lot from you guys about it for sure!
Hey Scott, that was just an awesome video. The work you and Sherry have done the past year and a half is mind boggling!
Thanks! You made a great stand-in actor too! :)
We’ve been looking for a camper ourselves (not this fancy) and just haven’t found what we like yet. I’m so impressed with this one - just beautiful!!! Great work!
There are so many choices depending on your needs for sure! I look forward to hearing about what you end up with!
That is so beautiful and thank you for the video. Can you tell me how much did you get for it and how much does it cost to fix it all up cause I’m getting ready to find one if I can I do the same thing you done good work Kentucky
I can say we paid $30K and then immediately put $30K into it with the renovation we did in the video. Since then, new tires, more mechanicals, genny fixes, new awnings all around, new air conditioners, the list goes on. Easily $50K into this since we bought it.
What a beautiful piece of American Engineering. Thank thank you two for thinking of me for my birthday the 22nd of this month, just a simple red bow will do and ill take delivery of my Wanderbird birthday gift anytime you like for me to pick it up!!!🤣👍🇺🇸
With jokes aside, you folks have done an impekable job on the restoration!!!.
Not long ago, I ran across an early PT-38 with the 8v92, sadly the Owner who lived in Oceanside,Ca let the Coach pretty much sit and let the Salty elements take its toll. All the rubber was shot. Window, tires and engine. The paint was Oxidized to a dull white haze, one side of the Coach was bubbling under most of the fender well seams, body panel rivet seams, although the Coach engine ran (how. I dont know?) The Coach was in very poor health and for His asking price of a firm $28 000 the Coach would have easily doubled that in repairs.
For someone alliow a Wanderlodge slip into a state of decompositolion like it did was a crime, needless to say. It was a No Sale. Maybe next time i may get a little luckier and find a reasonable bird to call my own but, until that day comes, ill enjoy admiring yours.
Good luck and thank you for caring for the Bird and sharing with us here on your chanel.
Peace and Love to you both, Enjoy!🇺🇸✌✌
Thank you for watching and the kind words Eric!
Nice job. I have a 1988 WB, but in mauve (not pink, lol) and more worse for wear than yours. Pretty much doing all the same repairs/replacements. Thus, the pictures looks like what I am going through.
That's awesome, let us know if there are any questions that we can help with for sure! Look forward to seeing some pix of your project!
Bus Grease Monkey on You Tube works on the engine and Chassis of Bluebirds...Nashville area.
Yes, I subscribe to them, they definitely are a go-to for these incredible rigs. Thanks for watching!
If you buy a Provo you got to spend 150 to 180 thousand so you done good
I was dreading watching this as most remodels look terrible . you've done a superb job though !!
Thank you for watching! We are super proud of our bird for sure!
great job, lots of work, how much out the door did it cost you, ball park figure
Hi, thanks for watching. I estimate that we spent $30K on all the initial renovation, mechanical services, and exterior paint job.
Where did you find the fabric for the curtains? I love it!!
Hi Pamela and thanks for watching! My wife found that decorative fabric on Fabric.com. It is item #0674833 and is called Artistry Tribal Southwest Ajei Jacquard Jute.
Ahhh!!! Thank you so much!
Dont know about the rv, But you have a Hottie for a wife and that alone makes any trip better!
Did Tim gunter do the .remodeling
Hi, thanks for watching! No, we did all the remodeling ourselves in the interior. We know Tim and he has done work on my Dad's Toyota RV though. Pea Ridge, AR is just around the corner from us which is where he is.
Tim and I worked together at a couple bird.dealerships. back in the day
What mpg you get on wanderlodge?
I haven't actually clocked it, but my understanding is that this rig probably averages about 6 mpg.
Its great to see you fixed all the systems and upgraded what was needed. Unfortunity you also took a classic vintage bus and renovated it to look like some glitzy new RV, too bad.
Thanks for checking it out!
Nice job what motor do you have
Thanks for watching! We have the 8V92T.
Great refurb! I noticed new captain's chairs. Curious as to where you sourced those? Thanks!
Matt, thanks for watching! Here is info on the chairs. Shop4Seats.com These are the Virtus Captain's Chairs with color Antelope IL103 and they were $557 each. Also ordered the 6-Way Power Bases with switches and hardware kits at $499 each. When we ordered in Feb 2021, due to covid delays, we didn't get them until Aug 2021. Not sure if things have improved, but the delay was really painful for sure!
@@WoodysCorner Thank you so much! This is exactly what I have been looking for in seats. Hope order times are not to long.
@@WoodysCorner Great video! We have the same seats in our 91 Wanderlodge SP 36. We want to buy new seats as well. Did you need to buy any adaptor plates/hardware for the seats to fit your coach or were they able to be installed on the existing mounting hardware? Thanks!
@@AnthonynAthens Hi, and thanks for watching! The 4 holes in the mounting plate for the mount did not line up to the original holes. For the front two bolts, I drilled new holes in the mounting plate so that those bolts could still be used since they actually bolted into some threaded type of mount down into that floor plywood. Then for the rear of the mounting plate, I couldn't drill new holes to align to the original holes in the floor, or even work with the bolt head back there as the seat hardware was just in the way. So I had to drill new holes and put some new lag bolts directly into the wood. I actually drilled two additional holes in the plate (for a total of six bolts) and lagged them as well. It is very secure and worked great.
@@WoodysCorner Thanks for the information. I’m certain our situation will be very similar. Ideally I’d like to move the passenger seat back an additional 6” or even 8” to allow more leg room. The factory configuration is very tight with almost no room to move your feet and legs around.

Gorgeous bird and great job on the remodel also. I’m curious what hardware or how were you able to hang the curtains? The color scheme is beautiful, warm and inviting. We are from NW Arkansas and have a 2000 LX WB named The BeachNest. My album is on the WOG of some of the renovations that we have done. And of course they are a continuing work of projects and art. I love this Bird though and so thankful we bought it when we did. Safe travels ! Devils den is a favorite spot of ours also but we have never taken the Bird there. Do you all have a blog or will you be updating on the TH-cam ?
Hi Paris, we are in Bentonville, which part of NWA do you live? Thanks for watching and the nice comments. Currently, the plan is to do our updates on this TH-cam channel, but we also have the Facebook page. Our content is somewhat varied as we are posting a little about everything in these two forums for Woodyscorner.net.
@@WoodysCorner I grew up
In Springdale , years ago … and we lived in Rogers and then rented a home in Bella Vista for awhile until we relocated to Calif. I look forward to more updates. It’s always great to see other BBird fans out there. I would also love to know how you hung the hardware for the curtains and your wife did a great job on those ! I’m using tension rods currently for summer curtains over the blinds but really want to remove all of them and replace them.
Great video! What did you spend (total) including purchase price and Renovation?
Hi Hana and thank you for watching. Your Father was an awesome person! We bought at $30K and probably have close to that in all the work and service that we have also done.
Will be better than new ones...
