I love the raindrop carbon fiber! I wish it was more available. Fat carbon looks like melted crayons, I'll pass on that almost every time, some looks nice but it's rare.
I really like carbon fiber scales. I have this unjustifiable aversion to carrying a lot of my titanium knives because I don't want to get the finish all snail trailed up. CF lets me feel fancy without worrying about that. Big big fan of the red/orange patterned carbon fiber that Fat Carbon and CamoCarbon make (Lava flow, mars valley, sunset orange, etc...) A couple variations on "standard" carbon fiber that you didn't have on here are 1. cross-cut (like Vero uses), or 2. what I call "woodgrain" carbon fiber that Kizer has used on the Begleiter 2, Microlith, Sheepdog, and probably a few others (The first release of the Vosteed Bellamy had it too).
Carbon fiber is my favorite scale material hands down. Haven’t seen many types that I didn’t like besides the spyderco crap on the smock. Took those off the same day I bought the smock. I’m with you on the 80s carbon. Love it! Got it on 2 of my Hinderers. First and only place I’ve seen it was on your channel… thanks!
Afternoon Lefty, I have a request for you. Can you please send me a black pivot for the OG Stout. Your were offering them a while back, but never got around to sending you a note. Please advise if you have some around. Thanks.
Personally I have guessed/considered the raindrop to be more premium than regular marbled CF with the rationale that the repeating pattern would require more steps/labor. The 80’s looked good. Generally don’t like CF. Is the marbled, raindrop, etc structurally strong enough to be used interchangeably with regular weave or is it largely cosmetic? I would guess all of it’s axises would be substantially weakened compared to regularly woven CF but I’m not an engineer.
@@LeftyEDC Do you know if you can use the marbled CF structurally like regularly woven CF or does it require additional support like liners or thicker pieces?
CF is getting out-of-hand with all the wacky patterns and colors, IMO. I think it still works on slipjoints because it somewhat mimics the wood & bone materials that are so commonly used on slipjoints. But beyond normal weave and maybe shredded CF patterns, the zanier, psychedelic stuff looks silly on more 'serious' knives at this point. I like my knives to look like tools, not toys. But, hey, to each their own. At least there are a lot of options out there for people who like wilder designs on their knives!
@@LeftyEDC yeah, as an 80's kid, I actually find the 80's CF colors to be right on. If I ever got a knife with a colorful CF, I'd probably go that route. Definitely takes me back!

80s carbon on the stout is 🔥
Nice "little" collection of knives with carbon fiber. Nice is an understatement. Also, thanks for the information.
Love the 80’s as well sir. Still need to find some… someday.
It's all pretty cool! Great video 👍
I love the raindrop carbon fiber! I wish it was more available. Fat carbon looks like melted crayons, I'll pass on that almost every time, some looks nice but it's rare.
Love that 80’s
Great vid kev 👏 the purple haze still barely in the lead but that stout in the 80's is on grail list for sure 👍 😀 I like blue in fat carbon as well
One must not forget the Carbon Plate found on Shirogorov's : )

Thanks for sharing brother always wondered why fat carbon raised the price of the knife so much now I know thanks brother 👍

Awesome!
How is it grip wise compared to aluminum and G10. I’m seeking a Pyrite Mini with a more sticky grip than the aluminum
I like how the Ari farbon ciber looks most in those examples. It's just a little narbin farbin but not too much.
🤣
Quality weave Carbon fiber yes!
The hipster colored stuff nah!

Can you email me at info@divoknives.com ? I got you covered.
Sell me the mini aero!!!! I’ve searched and searched for one for over a year lol
This has been slightly chopped and was a gift from a friend. Not selling sorrt

@@ElCapAddict not sure but i think u can
IMHO peel ply CF doesn’t deserve to be called carbon fiber.
Agreed
What you call shredded Carbon is called Forged Carbon in the Automotive business
Are you congested 24/7😂😂
Pretty much yea. Tried Flonase recently. Been a fee months. Not sure it helps
You still trying to get a CF ring?
Yup i have a forged cf one on order and karbadize is working on some cool ones

I have smock with dark matter carbon fiber and it has a lot of copper was going to send pic but I’m technologically stupid lol
Camo carbon fiber makes the USA and Fat Carbon makes the Nebula. Not sure which one is on the nine.
🤣 me neither
Marbled cf >
