    Very nice documentation. Great job! This will really help me. I have a Craftsman YT3000 mower with same exact deck and the same bracket broke although I didn’t hit a root cluster :) Thank you so much for such a great DIY instruction. Now off to the store to buy a welder…

      Thank you! A welder is a must! I've used mine so many times to fix broken things around here. Not the cheapest investment but, well worth it in my opinion. Good luck with your repair!

    This is exactly what happened to me, great video, I’m going to try to fix it myself

      Appreciate that! It's not a bad repair and mine has been holding strong!

      @@BustedBeaters that’s good to know….I don’t know how to weld, but my friend does it, so I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.

      Thank you! I try to put down some good welds. They've held this long so that's a win for me!

    You did a great job in showing every step and explaining your progress. The video was excellent at first of the welding then the video went dark. Don't know what happened but at first it showed the actual up close welding which was excellent. Great job young man.

    Keep a eye on the frame for breaking and cracking right in front of rear tires on both sides, look at the area where deck brackets bolt up

      Do they have issues back there? I sure hope not lol

    Very very good job, can tell you really enjoyed doing it also
    I don’t have a wire welder so I use a stick welder, not as pretty as yours for sure but works 😊😊

      Thank you! Luckily it doesn't have to be a pretty repair! Just has to keep the deck on the mower!

    thank you, I'd forgotten how the springs were configured on the deck (after a spindle rebuild a month ago)

      You have no idea how many times I have done the same thing! I always seem to think things are going back together right away and that I'll remember how it goes! Several months or years later I'm just staring at a pile of parts lol Glad I could help!

    this is an excellent video. i have the same issue. need to weld my deck. also need to buy a welder...will a flex core (no gas) do the trick?
    again, excellent video. nice work. and amazing job welding!

      Thanks! I appreciate that. From my understanding Flux core would produce a weld just as strong as MIG. Preparing the metal beforehand is the most important part. My deck has been holding string so I imagine your repair would as well

    Have you had to fix the bracket since you repaired it.I have the same mower but mine has just cracked not ripped out.

    • @BustedBeaters
      @BustedBeaters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not had to fix the bracket since the repair. It's been a full season and still holding strong. Hope it stays that way!

      On some of them I’ve had to plate the area and then weld to the plate to find enough good metal to weld

    You’re a humdinger at this. Curious why you used copper with a dissimilar metal.

      Thanks! Where did I use copper in this video? It's been a while since I made the video lol

      @@BustedBeaters oh, maybe I misunderstood. I’m almost positive you said that you were going to used copper on the underside of the deck as a filler material in the crack. Please let me know which filler material you used. Honestly I’ve never seen a repair anywhere near as good as yours. 🙏🙌

    • @BustedBeaters
      @BustedBeaters  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I appreciate that! I try to do my best to keep all my junk as nice as possible lol No filler material was needed in this case. I just used ER70S-6 weld wire if you really want to get into the details.
