Thanks for this review, I’m definitely passing on the helmet now

Okay here is the update having received the Medium. I've decided to sell mine on as the 'M' fit didn't match my head shape which was a massive disappointment though it was more comfortable than the 'L' I returned. The way the MIPs band tightens on the Aura it forces my forehead into the front of the helmet which if the fit is wrong shape it ends up being painful. I tried mine on a 5 hour bike ride (taking it on and off during coffee stops) and towards the end it was uncomfortable to the point I just wanted to take it off. When I got home I rushed to put my Bell Sixer on and it was heavenly in comparison, i.e. no pressure points.
The Bell Sixer has a 360 band which doesn't force ones head against the shell at any point. Unit 1 could have given more info as regards the mould they were using and therefore what head shapes were targeted. I also think how they went about implementing the MIPs band meant fewer head shapes could be accommodated.
The button issue is a cock up on someone's part and to say it will get better with time is just not true. All of us use these types of buttons in our electronics in one form or another and I've never known a PB like this to be so damn stiff or even to get easier with time, they don't. I've got the same type on my Bontrager Ion/Flare lights which I've had for years with no such problems.
While the helmet looks aesthetically really good the visor is ineffectual. I use mine on my Bell Sixer to block the sun as I don't like wearing dark sunglasses, the one on the Aura blocks nothing, it just looks good.
If the fit had been better I would have kept this helmet with all it's shortcomings I really wanted to like the Aura but it didn't like me!

Would there be a possibility to add some better padding perhaps?

I don't see how that could work at all considering the shape of the shell on the 'L' was simply wrong for me. I'm going to give the 'M' a go but I'm not holding out too much hope. The only reason why I'm will to try it is because the 'L' was way too big for me so let's see how the 'M' goes after all I've waited long enough for it.

Hi Gus, I am also disappointed by the fit. If it doesn't fit they should accept a return... they are already commercially available too which is disappointing that kickstarters are not prioritised.

I'm currently returning mine in the hope the medium will be a better fit. I accept the 'L' which should have fit in reality may be way too big when it comes to the design of the Aura. Right now I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and will post with an update on the whole experience when I received the downsized unit. Unit 1 has said this helmet was designed for people with oval heads well that is simply not my experience at all! What surprises me is so few people have kicked up about the fit on the message boards hence why I'm giving the 'M' a go.

@@Gus-u5edid you ever receive the M and how does it fit? I have the L right now and it seems to be a bit large despite my measurements being in the range for a large. Curious to know your experience with the Medium even though I assume the tightening mechanism will be the same.
Also agree with the button. Seems like a poor choice for whatever it is and no reason it need to be so difficult to press.

@@Minerva___ I got the medium and if you read further down in the comments I explain the issues I had. I've now sold the helmet on eBay but I've kept the lights so will see where I go with them. But disappointing and I won't be buying helmets by mail again
