I am planning on getting a nrx I’m deciding betweeen the 893 and the 894. I’m planning on using it for 1/8-1/4 T-rigs and 1/4 finesse jigs Do think the 893 has enough back bone to set the hook on it?
I don’t have the 894 anymore however, the 894c is one of my favorite rods of all time for jigs or Texas rigged plastics. If I had to pick a designated rod for jigs/Texas rigged plastics, it would be the 894.
I have the 894 with the new metanium for jigs, 893 with older metanium for weightless Texas rig with plastic and senko. Aslo have the 853 with an aldebaran 50mgl.... what do you recommend I use it for? Been using it to throw 1/8 jigs and drop shot for trout.
great vid as usual. was wondering if you owned the g.loomis imx pro 904 or 965 swimbait rods? i have a megabass vatalion 190 and others to throw along with the i-jack and i-loud that i need to dust off and those imx pro swimbait rods from g.loomis have my attention.
Thanks! Unfortunately I dont own those. Not a very big swimbait guy but definitely looking into getting into it. I had the 904 conquest that I loved but parted with it for personal reasons.
Power yes. Sensitivity, close but NRX wins out and is better due to the extra length. Idk if you feel this way but once I've used rods longer than 7'5", I just cant go back to anything shorter.
Thanks for watching Marcus! It really depends but I get most of my high end gear from Tracy at Bypass Tackle in Kentucky or off FB groups via Shimano buy and trade or Daiwa Buy and trade
The 893 is such a versatile rod. I have it in the IMX pro and love it for senkos chatterbait and skipping mini jigs. I ended up ordering it in the glx
Love those rods. I’ve had a conquest on order since November
Are you on Facebook? Join the shimano democracy Facebook group. Definitely come across some new conquest at a decent price!
Do you think the 893 would be good for chatterbaits? I'm looking at the GLX 893 and wondering if it's the same as the NRX 893
It would not be. You would be better off with a 894 or a 904.
I just bought a Daiwa Steez ct sv tw 70 for a dedicated pitching rig. What rod would suit me best for senkos and texas rigs? thank you
I really like the 893. Great tip for lighter lures!
When you're talking about the sweet spot for a rod, do you mean the best weight for casting or for max bottom sensitivity?
Best lure weight :)
Lmk when you are parting way from that 894 please.. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I've got a brand new nrx 894c for sale

893!!!! Reach out to my friend Tracy Glasock at bypass tackle in Kentucky. He may be able to hook you up with one! He’s my go-to!
You still throwing the 894? Still liking it?

Do you know if Gloomis nrx casting rod is coming with a new line of models

Is the 7'2"H adrena comparable to the 894(action/power)???
Power yes. Sensitivity, close but NRX wins out and is better due to the extra length. Idk if you feel this way but once I've used rods longer than 7'5", I just cant go back to anything shorter.
Where do you buy your high end rods? Thanks for the great video btw!
