a) Pete is partially at fault for putting Kao in a position to lie and not being understanding enough about Non in the beginning.

A lie is a lie people. There is no justification for that and the fact that Pete told Kao in previous episode not to lie to him again, of course he is going to be angry. I was not surprise at all about how he reacted. Kao lied. He might have "tried" to talk to pete but the reality is that he didnt. There is no if, but, or mabe about this scenario. I dont think its even completely about Non at this point. He lied and that is pete's reaction to it. When you're in a hidden relationship you need honesty from your partner to feel secure because the relationship itself feels like a lie.
Agreed. Lying is wrong. Pete was not being reasonable regarding not seeing Non but Kao shouldn't have lied. If he remained persistent it wasn't an option Pete would've caved most likely. Feel bad for both couples
This is how I feel. Kao should’ve talked to Pete again first with a FULL explanation of WHY he needed to keep tutoring Non. I think though Pete wouldn’t have been happy about it, w/some ground rules he could’ve lived w/it.
But instead Kao promised him a very specific thing for the good of their relationship, then turned around and did the thing. And that’s a betrayal, nvm it being Non, and then when you considered Non, this brat, who tho w/issues of his own, CLEARLY wants Kao to himself plus with Kao’s (tho understandable) refusal to let anyone know of their relationship, Pete is now feeling insecure in his relationship because of both an inside and outside threat. That’s too fronts, then add on the betrayal that is Kao lying to him, I COMPLETELY understand Pete’s reaction and him breaking up (? I’m guessing that was kind of his... hidden meaning in the very upfront “we are friends” thing, that was clearly meant for Kao and not the others) with Kao.
Is Kao the only one in the wrong here? Of COURSE not. Pete let his insecurities get the best of him, forgetting that, tho Kao is clearly scared of telling anyone esp his mom, he LOVES Pete and has for three years. That’s not a short amount of time you know? Kao clearly feels nothing towards Non but instead of seeing this, Pete’s insecurity and possessiveness got the best of him.

But at the same time, Pete needs to learn how to listen & stop lashing out all of the time. I’d lie to him, too, just to avoid his overdramatic, bad attitude. He constantly made Kai feel like he couldn’t talk to him & it shouldn’t be like that.
Pete should never have put Kao in a position where he was forced to choose between his relationship and something that would impact his mother's employment. Pete was also in the wrong. Kao definitely had chances to tell the truth, sure, but clearly Pete's not willing to acknowledge and take responsibility for his role in the situation.
Though to be fair, Kao is a bit of a doormat. He never really did a good job (re)asserting his boundaries when Non continued to act inappropriately. Like Megan said, he should have communicated with Pete about why the ultimatum he was given was unreasonable (and perhaps had a conversation about the controlling behavior that led Pete to give that ultimatum). But Kao is a conflict-avoidant people pleaser. Bad combination of traits when you need to stand up for yourself.

Dark Blue Kiss will always be my favorite bl, and I've watched many of them.
I love It how it's one the few that shows a long term relationship and their problems. I love TayNew chemistry, I love It how Pete and Kao are imperfect characters who makes mistakes and are selfish sometimes but are always sure about loving each other. I love it how they have imature and realistic problems. I love the drama and I even love their break up, because it's so well acted and written, and I love their time apart, because it was important for their growth and maturity, personally and as a couple. I love It how at the end of the show you can be assured that they can now face the world together.

Omgg, didn't you see? Non is just a poor boyyy. His parents never gave him love or attention, so he is now seeking that from someone else, now that his parents can't give him that. He isn't a brat, is just that his parents don't care about him. You see Kao, he has such a good & caring mother, and Pete, who has such a great & understanding dad. Well, Non doesn't have any of that, that's why he is seeking for attention, it's not like he wants to, is his parents who made him do that. And Pete too, he is being overly agressive with Non, he doesn't have the right to be pushing him or hurting him. It is obvious that Pete is super jealous and that he has a bad temper. But it is not his fault, he tried so hard not to do anything to Non, but he couldn't hold it. I wish Non could actually get a good ending in his storyline, he is innocent and didn't want to be like that. And I wish the best to PeteKao as well, I hate when these two fight.

He can surely get the attention he lacked off at Kao in a way where Pete approved as Kao is a kind hearted person and being friendly with him is not a problem..if only Non won't do unnecessary things.. First, I'm loving this series. Took me a long time to finally watch it. I watched Kiss Me Again back before the pandemic, so this is long overdue. So many good scenes. Good acting, directing, everything. I always love story, first, above all, and this one is definitely good. So much so that it makes me want to comment on our characters' attitudes.
Wow, the only one who I felt actually did the right thing here is Mork. And Sun won't even listen to him, just assumes he fought this time. He didn't even listen to what happened in the other fights, only makes assumptions that Mork starts them. I honestly don't see how Mork could have avoided this latest altercation - starting with helping Manow way back when.
I know it's drama for the sake of drama, but there are many people out there who jump to conclusions thinking they know what really happened. Sun is just as hot tempered as Mork - he admits it, but he takes it out on Mork and his brother.
Kao was in a difficult position. He had no good options. I really don't blame him for how things went, but one thing he should have done was stood up to Pete. Kao is the one character here who lets people walk all over him. I hope he finally gives Pete a piece of his mind.
Pete is so insecure. He's so hateful of Non. To some degree I don't blame him. Non is arrogant, and it turns out Non cheats when trying to win. But Pete shouldn't be so controlling of his boyfriend. I don't want to see them break up, but their relationship is not healthy the way it is.
Imagine if Pete would actually talk to his dad about his problems, and get some advice? Could this have played out differently?
Non: He's complex. You can see he's the product of his fathers strict upbringing. I feel for him when his father berates him. But I also look at home he tried to cheat AND how he dealt with losing by creating a rift between Pete and Kao. I certainly hope he doesn't think Kao is going to like him after this. At least I hope Kao doesn't. I hope Kao finds out he was the reason for the picture being leaked. AND, blatantly displaying the Pete/Kao mug is vindictive. He may like Kao, but he certainly doesn't care about Kao.
Ok, enough complaining about the characters attitudes. I'm looking forward to the make-up scenes.

I am goin to be the odd one here and be on Pete's side with this one. A lie is a lie. There is no sugar coating it. From once you feel the need to lie in your relationship then there is something wrong there. Kao never had to lie about Non if he had been forward from the beginning. There are other ways to get your intention across without coming out (since he is not ready). He could have just told Non to stop. Look him dead in the eyes and be serious with him n tell him to STOP. But kao didnt, he kept brushing it off, that is where he went wrong. There is just so much agony a person can take within a relationship before they snap. Especially if that relationship is hidden its even more difficult. What could have helped a bit is Kao allowing Pete to tell their friends then. Why hide it from them. They are close and even though they mite tease them I don't think they would turn their backs on them. Pete just needed reassurance from Kao that they were in a relationship together. Kao could have given him that without coming out to his mother.
Pete may be a little commanding, but In the end he loves Kao. And Kao should have understood that, if there was one thing Pete asked from him he shouldn't go ahead and do the exact opposite in the name of fear. If he truly wanted Pete to know, he would have at least tried and put efforts into it rather than into keeping it a secret.

But I am also holding Kao's part of the issue for lying when Kao should've told Pete point blank that I'm not stopping my tutoring so you can live with it and understand my situation or it's over.
