This just about saved me in one of the roughest time periods of my life; never have I been pressed into a corner to where hope seemed absolutely LOST I never even believed that with Jesus such a feeling could ever exist... As someone who’s loved God my entire life, and encountered testimony, after testimony the last three years have absolutely wiped me out. It’s so easy to become susceptible to a religious spirit during such harsh times which nearly drove me to the edge to where I threw in the towel on my faith for a few months for the first time in my life. I needed this so badly. It gave me hope again. Praise God and thank you Pastor Wesley.

Dr. Wesley states, "As long as we believe in Jesus, everything else is debatable?" But, the way we understand the validity of who Jesus is comes from the bible. This is why expositional preaching ( Preaching what the scripture says ) is so important in an age of preachers and people who are straying away from the church. He exalts the people in the world that are "really thinking" through issues, and demeans people that quote scripture? Col. 3:16.

Initially, I had great reservations about this "CAYA", but some things he said were true. My relationship with God is just as much experience as scripture. I guess I will have to see how he answers the question "Can you have salvation outside of Jesus?" So true... "I am tired of waking up tired."

Because your whole points where about how the apostles did preach bible, and I would say they referenced bible, because of who they were speaking to, so that the word of God, the Gospel didnt fall on dead ears.
But Thomas came to believe everything the other apostles said and taught after his experience. So at some point whether through teaching or experience people in a group come to the same understanding.

Sounds like it is time for Pastor Wesley to found his own church...one not based on the Bible as it is but only the parts of the Bible that he believes in. I say people can believe in what they want to believe in but it feels a little disrespectful to be in, let alone be the pastor of, a Christian Church and constantly doubt the scriptures.
I love this Mr. Wesley, but “I honestly believe” he is extremely dangerous and misleading. Wesley uses scripture masterfully. When it supports his agenda, he quotes scripture. When the Bible does not align with his agenda or his experience, he questions and belittles it. However, it is the scriptures contained in the Bible that gives us the requirement for being a Christian. Rom. 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Wesley appears to believe Romans 10:9, but because of his personal experiences with so called “good” people he has doubt of the next four verses. That is why he considers himself an INCLUSIVIST. John 14:6 - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Acts 4:12 - Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” 1Tim. 2:5 - For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1John 2:23 - No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Either ALL SCRIPTURE is the word of God or it is not. If is not, then the Bible is a lie and unreliable. 2Tim. 3:16-17 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Yes, God’s word can be distorted and/or misinterpreted. We see evidence of this throughout history. However, that does not disqualify sound doctrine. This preacher, for reasons that only God knows, consistently separates the word of God (Scripture) from God. He obviously does not believe 2Timothy 3:16-17. Prov. 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. Wesley has reached the point in his ministry where he puts more faith in his intellect and his experiences, over scripture. According to him, his personal experiences are about to "leap frog" scripture. Howard Wesley has the Je-ne-sais-quoi to be a popular modern-day preacher - he definitely has the %$#&! - he has all the appealing essentials to draw the crowd, fill the pews, and persuade the masses: He is a handsome gentleman He is a 5th generation preacher He is educated He has divinity school credentials He has a doctorate degree He knows scripture He is articulate He is courageous He dresses well He is culturally relevant He has great comedic timing For all these reasons I knew the first time I heard him, I had to be sober and very careful, to make certain that I was not influenced by anything but the word of God. It hurts me to my heart that this gentleman is so far off the mark. My prayer is that he will return to sound doctrine. God does want us to say and think the same thing about His word so that we are not divided. 1Cor. 1:10 - I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. Do not stray away from or distort what is written. 1Cor. 4:6 - Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “DO NOT GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN.” Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.

This just about saved me in one of the roughest time periods of my life; never have I been pressed into a corner to where hope seemed absolutely LOST I never even believed that with Jesus such a feeling could ever exist... As someone who’s loved God my entire life, and encountered testimony, after testimony the last three years have absolutely wiped me out. It’s so easy to become susceptible to a religious spirit during such harsh times which nearly drove me to the edge to where I threw in the towel on my faith for a few months for the first time in my life. Dr. Wesley states, "As long as we believe in Jesus, everything else is debatable?" But, the way we understand the validity of who Jesus is comes from the bible. This is why expositional preaching ( Preaching what the scripture says ) is so important in an age of preachers and people who are straying away from the church. He exalts the people in the world that are "really thinking" through issues, and demeans people that quote scripture? Col. 3:16.

Initially, I had great reservations about this "CAYA", but some things he said were true. My relationship with God is just as much experience as scripture. I guess I will have to see how he answers the question "Can you have salvation outside of Jesus?" So true... "I am tired of waking up tired."
To quote Pastor Wesley in this video he says “You may find this amazing. The original apostles didn’t preach Bible. When you read and see the preaching of Peter and the original apostles, they didn’t stand in front of a congregation and say open your Bibles to Leviticus 17 and let me preach to you about homosexuality. That’s not what they preached at all. They stood in front of people and this is what they said: let’s tell you about Jesus who came and what we saw and what he did on the cross, how he died and by the power of God he’s seen resurrected and now the Holy Spirit has called us to bear witness of his love and salvation that is freely offered to all those who would accept him as Lord and Savior. That’s all they preached”
Moment of truth: Anyone watching I would encourage you to examine the Bible to see if this statement is true, which I’m sure Pastor Wesley will agree with because Pastor Wesley is submitting to you that what the original apostles did can be found in the Bible.

If you read those passages, please tell me:
Did they preach bible? If not, then who is Joel, David, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Why mention the patriarchs and Moses? Who are the judges and kings God raised?
Where is the scripture where the original apostles stood in front of people and said ‘all those who would accept Him as Lord and Savior’? Do you really think repentance and acceptance are the same?

So like did you hear the part where he said they referenced the bible, but didnt preach bible??? Because your whole points where about how the apostles did preach bible, and I would say they referenced bible, because of who they were speaking to, so that the word of God, the Gospel didnt fall on dead ears.
But Thomas came to believe everything the other apostles said and taught after his experience. So at some point whether through teaching or experience people in a group come to the same understanding.

If you will listen, Dr. HJW places "experience" over "faith". And my point is that his polemic is faulty and erroneous thus, spiritually dangerous.
If one listen to him only (and other teachers like him), I can understand why one would be persuaded by him because he is winsome and articulate. Nonetheless, his theology and doctrine is heretical. There is no way around that conclusion. He may even embrace that title. Nonetheless, he is preaching and teaching rank heresy.

Sounds like it is time for Pastor Wesley to found his own church...one not based on the Bible as it is but only the parts of the Bible that he believes in. I say people can believe in what they want to believe in but it feels a little disrespectful to be in, let alone be the pastor of, a Christian Church and constantly doubt the scriptures.
I love this Mr. Wesley, but “I honestly believe” he is extremely dangerous and misleading. Wesley uses scripture masterfully. When it supports his agenda, he quotes scripture. When the Bible does not align with his agenda or his experience, he questions and belittles it.
However, it is the scriptures contained in the Bible that gives us the requirement for being a Christian.
Rom. 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Wesley appears to believe Romans 10:9, but because of his personal experiences with so called “good” people he has doubt of the next four verses. That is why he considers himself an INCLUSIVIST.
John 14:6 - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Acts 4:12 - Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
1Tim. 2:5 - For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
1John 2:23 - No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Either ALL SCRIPTURE is the word of God or it is not. If is not, then the Bible is a lie and unreliable.
2Tim. 3:16-17 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Yes, God’s word can be distorted and/or misinterpreted. We see evidence of this throughout history. However, that does not disqualify sound doctrine.
This preacher, for reasons that only God knows, consistently separates the word of God (Scripture) from God. He obviously does not believe 2Timothy 3:16-17.
Prov. 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
Wesley has reached the point in his ministry where he puts more faith in his intellect and his experiences, over scripture. According to him, his personal experiences are about to "leap frog" scripture.
Howard Wesley has the Je-ne-sais-quoi to be a popular modern-day preacher - he definitely has the %$#&! - he has all the appealing essentials to draw the crowd, fill the pews, and persuade the masses:
He is a handsome gentleman
He is a 5th generation preacher
He is educated
He has divinity school credentials
He has a doctorate degree
He knows scripture
He is articulate
He is courageous
He dresses well
He is culturally relevant
He has great comedic timing
For all these reasons I knew the first time I heard him, I had to be sober and very careful, to make certain that I was not influenced by anything but the word of God.
It hurts me to my heart that this gentleman is so far off the mark. My prayer is that he will return to sound doctrine.
God does want us to say and think the same thing about His word so that we are not divided.
1Cor. 1:10 - I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.
Do not stray away from or distort what is written.
1Cor. 4:6 - Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “DO NOT GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN.” Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.

Pastor Wesley is very profound in a lot of things he preach (which is y I listen to him) BUT there are several issues where the bible is plain and he goes against that because of feelings or experiences. "The bible says" lol, we are to b on ONE ACCORD...BELIEVE WHAT IS WRITTEN. Women shouldn't preach because there is no scripture for it and the qualifications does not fit for a woman, neither is there an example in the bible to substantiate that.....B Blessed
