Yea I mean Gigabyte is just an updated version of Megabyte just under a different name. And Perfect Phoenix is just brutality with a different driver as Paul now has Biteforce not sure if Perfect Phoenix has any upgrades or not or if it's just the same as it was before Paul retired it.
@@someguyonyoutube9279 Hope that some day in the future that Tyler gets his own bot. As Perfect Phoenix is too outdated in this day in age to actually compete. Sure it can still win certain fights against the likes of Atom94, Extinguisher and Sub Zero. But it's never gonna be able to beat the top tier bots. Would like to see Tyler have a bot that fits his style of driving much better which is being aggressive. Which is like the exact opposite of driving a horizontal spinner as they always have to get space to make sure they can get their weapon up to speed. Meaning it's hard to dictate aggression with a bot like Perfect Phoenix. Would like to see him maybe scale up his 3lb bot Dread Hades.
Nice spot you can also watch the College Battlebots competition where you can find a young Andrea Gellatly from Witch Doctor driving a bot her college team made.
That's no shame though. These were both incredible machines, just like Biohazard. It took years for anyone to figure out how to build something that could dish out enough punishment to stop that bot without breaking itself to pieces in the process, or getting removed violently from the contest by way of those quick and powerful flips Biohazard was known for.
OneBiasedOpinion In fact, both of those bots seemed to take inspiration from two of the most dominant bots of the lightweight and middleweight divisions, Ziggo and Hazard.
To make room for obviously WAY MORE IMPORTANT programs such as WWE, Duck Dynasty, Jersey Shore, American Idol, The X Factor, Pawn Stars and all those action programs that replaced the educational stuff on discovery channel and history channel
@Slayr231 Yes, they did use it, but it was for a small amount of time when compared to the whole rest of the match. When they did use it they hit Magebyte and nearly flipped over, hence why I think they realized that the bar was not going to help them a whole lot in this particular fight.
@riodoid ....NO the Bar on top of Brutality is not 'sacrificial' it is a powered spinning bar. however for this fight they decided not to use it. this could be either because it was rendered inoperable in a pervious fight, or they decided that trying to use their spinner against another spinner would be a bad tactic.
Actually, Megabyte and Gigabyte are pretty much the same bot. Megabyte competes as Gigabyte (and previously as Invader) at Battlebots because currently Megabyte is on contract with King of Bots.
Gigabyte is megabyte with supermegabytes drive train and with bit more weight to the shell Icewave is brutality with an ICE or a scaled up greenwave with an ICE instead of a motor That makes me wonder if brutality is stronger than icewave or not, on one hand weight distribution and general advancement On the other hand the ICE was originally a cost saving measure and is only still there as a gimick
@@datguy8805 Actually, Super Megabyte was just Megabyte competing in the superheavyweight class. At that time, Megabyte was so powerful that it could compete in a higher weight class and still perform well. roidroid it is powered, in the fight they did use it. Just against a bot like megabyte it is almost useless so they just went with being a simple wedge the whole fight.
roidroid They did indeed use it, but they realized that Megabyte’s spinning shell was near impenetrable, and Brutality nearly flipped itself over while trying to grind away.
Blendo was the first shell spinner, before warhog, banshee and ziggo even existed, it first appeared in 1995 (before BBC's Robot Wars) and was disqualified for being too dangerous/powerful for the arena to handle.
Looks like Brutality has learned its lesson from *2005 when Megabyte smashed it to pieces.
As it turns out, both of these robots are responsible for biohazards retirement,
Biohazard to my knowledge hasn’t even been fixed
@@Leatherface123. don't think that it ever will be, unfortunately

Who would've thought that both these two bots would be fighting in this year's competition? It's essentially Gigabyte Vs Perfect Phoenix.

At 0:40 Victor Soto in the audience...

Both of which forced the legendary BioHazard into retirement... :(

Paul switched to bite force, Brutality is now perfect phoenix
Why the heck was it taken off the air?
It was such a cool show to get kids and us big kids into technology, engineering, etc.
I loved Battlebots.
Winterstick549 they wanted a wwe crowd

Well good news is ABC rebooted Battlebots for 2015-2016 and Now the new 2018 Season is currently airing on Discovery and SCFY!
John Whitten the original series of Battlebots was aired and cancelled by Comedy Central.
At least it got rebooted
Is that Paul Ventimiglia? (Brutality driver).
No, it's his evil twin brother!

Brutality reminds me of the black knight in Monty python and the holy grail.. "Ill bite your legs off!"
Perfect Phoenix vs Gigabyte :)
Make that the 'rematch' of the BioHazard killers.
So it's Icewave without the ICE, and Gigabyte Lite XD

VestedUTuber pretty sure that changed later on, maybe we should hope for an ama and then ask them

Don't need to wait for an AMA. I'm pretty sure RDC is one of the teams that's regularly active on r/battlebots.
@MrMechanus Brutality used its spinning bar in this fight.
Wow, i'm surprised this went so long of a fight

Yup. Megabyte totaled Brutality last time. Looks like the team remembered that.
Megabyte's last battle :(
Compass6633 It came back for Robogames 2017
It’s in King Of Bots as well.

Both Battlebots and Robot wars have really went downhill since they dont have TV shows anymore... sucks..
acenace24 No worries. Battle bots has returned for 2 more seasons. You can thank ABC for that.

The beam on top of Brutality seems to be unpowered. Is it sacrificial? It does seem to take most of the hits, protecting the rest of the bot.

Spinning bar was useless while having a low profile gave brutality an edge

Romax 24245 It was to show that the weapon was operable.
Without Chris Rose and Kenny Florian, it kinda sucks.

they're also different weight classes...
