I have read the compound effect before, I need to read it again. Nice to hear something besides this scale and this technique video. A book that inspired me was “Your broke because you want to be” Larry Winget is the author.I read it during a low point in my life, which ironically I am grateful I went through, and this book helped me get out of that low point and make changes that I apply to my life to this day, and I am not broke anymore, because I choose not to be!

So I read the great Richard P. Feynman's autobiography and it doesn't necessarily cover the habits, but Feynman mentions another crucial aspect there:
In the last chapter he talks about humbleness every scientist needs to have. It manifests itself in adhesion to your own method and not "rounding up" your results to the chart values. He spoke about quantum physics experiments, but I believe it perfectly translates to guitar and what every virtuoso (and I've seen you Bernth emphasize it on numerous occasions) should do.
This being: you cannot play inconsistently and hope it will "slide". It usually won't. Even if it does though, it may admittedly benefit you, but in the long run it contributes to deterioriation of the art of music and just hurts the truth.
I'm pleased to see that the flame doesn't die out and musicians don't allow themselves to make blunders. Remember it every time you struggle with a difficult technique or consistency in recording yourself: by temporarily slowing down the metronome or deleting an imperfect take to play it better you erect a majestic monument to the excellence of humankind and for the generations of music-lovers to come after you.
Hope it keeps us all up in our day-to-day struggle...

    Great recommendations!
It's worth mentioning that the audio version of "can't hurt me" includes conversations between the narrator and David himself during the reading.
The are a few pearls in that version.
For you personally, I'd like to recommend Unscripted: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Entrepreneurship by M. J. DeMarco which includes a very practical no-fluff approach to starting and growing your business in a way that detaches your personal availability from the income potential.

"Outliers" by March Gladwell belongs in your library. Gladwell explores what it takes to become an "expert" and defines the traits and characteristics of an "Outlier". Clearly, good habits bolster the learning experience and satisfaction. Accomplishment feeds the beast!
The perfect complement to Bernth's methodical, yet flexible approach to proficiency.

What you said talking about the first book is absolutely right but very hard, almost impossible, to do. I did it and now I am having a huge reward, but it costed years of hard work. I'm not talking about playing guitar or music in this case, but about my life, income and work: I began to study so hard that my parents couldn't believe it and my friends couldn't understand why I didn't spend the most of time with them having fun. Well, today, years later, I am a guitars collector (just for example I have 9 Les Paul custom shop), have a Maserati, a good but hard job and still play. Someone say I'm lucky. Yes, I am, but where were they when I was working hard every single day for years? Passion combined with discipline and determination are so important in your life...
