- yayyyy finally some outdoor asmr :) this time with my most cutest guest pumby 🤍 this footage was taken during both his morning & evening outdoor times (we can’t keep him fully outdoors due to cats and he needs to be supervised) it was fun to film his daily exploring of the yard 🌱 faq: pumpkin’s a male eastern box turtle, we rescued him from being attacked by a cat on our block and have no clue how he ended up in an urban area with cars & streets! his vet predicted he’s around 9-12 years old (we say he’s currently 11) & because he’s orange & we rescued him in october of 2022 my family and i thought the name pumpkin was perfect (my brother is to thank for the initial suggestion) he is very playful, signs of distress are biting, hiding in shell, which he never does so he was totally safe and happy in this video :) friendliest lil turtle, so cute 🤍🤍🤍🤍 thank you always!!!! hope you enjoy! This was a great video it would be cool to put a go pro in pumpkin but what do you do when it gets cold
I think a go pro would stress him out sadly which is why I kinda tried to mimic that by following behind him with my phone held up! as for the winter , he has an indoor tank that he stays in to sleep , eat, and in the winter he fully stays in there and brumates (eats less and sleeps a bunch)

Thank you for caring for this turtle, and rescuing him from a cat. Cats are awful, I have 3 but I never let them kill anything. They can really decimate wild life.

I love box turtles, I had one growing up that we rescued off the road. She eventually went to a sanctuary after I graduated HS. I bet she is still alive and kicking today! I feel bad in a way letting her go but she is probably happier there.
