    Hi Nigel, good to see you have decided to carry on posting, Positive energy will always beat negative energy, I watch in awe at what you can do with a kit, I would never have the balls to attempt what you have done to Titanic but it doesn't stop me picking up tips that I will attempt on kits.
    I like the look of this truck in the review, might be an addition to the stash in the near future.
    Stay Positive my friend

    That address is the US distributor. They are supposedly Legends Toys and Hobbies and import several Asian kit manufacturers into the US like Merit, AFV, HK, Rye Field, Hasegawa, so on. They also seem to import other items as well.

      As I mentioned at the start of this video.. Part 18 will start filming soon... so it should be up before months end. A 30 minute video on that thing is roughly 8 hours work.

    Nigel, Glad to see you back. I've been modeling since about 1970 and unfortunately this hobby is and always has been full of negative know it alls. My experience is these folks that complain the most about another persons work never seem to ever complete a build themselves. Don't let the bastards get you down.

    Nigel, great review of Diamond T, nice crisp parts. Impressive vehicle! My father was a mechanic/artilleryman 1939/45. He lost his Scammell Pioneer gun tractor after it was bombed by the RAF ! As a stop gap he was given a Diamond T as a replacement but he never liked it. He told me that they were mechanically a nightmare whilst in hard service. He even managed to tear the wheels off in very muddy road conditions! He was much happier when he got a replacement Scammell again which he said would go anywhere with its cantilever suspension. Great to hear Titanic 18 coming along! I am following your lead on the hull corrections and really happy with results around the centre propeller shaft thinning. Sprue goo perfect for the rudder/propeller bracket area correction. Many thanks for this series. Regards JH ;-D

    Hercules engines are long gone, Nigel. Same with Diamond T. So I don't think there would be any conflict using the names. Whereas the tires would have been Firestone, Goodyear, or Generals who are still in existence.

I had not heard on Merit kits before and after a bit of internet sleuthing I see that Revell also put out a kit of this and there was also a soft top version. Will be watching with interest if you decide to build this one after all, that will make room in the stash of another kit. Cheers mate and take care.

    Good to have you back at the bench Nigel and to hear the enthusiasm for the hobby in your voice again! That was a nice looking kit, very suitable for a diorama perhaps when adding a tank & crew. A question about this checker plate floors, how do I paint it so that the bottom is in the original paint and the higher ridges are worn down? I never manage to imitate the real thing. • @mikecooper8462
    @mikecooper8462 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nigel, along with making the steering functional, is it also possible to allow for the rear suspension to pivot?
    By not gluing the rear leaf springs into place (allow them to pivot), the differentials, when glued to the springs, will keep the springs 'captured' in-place. And when placing the radius arms(?), part B26, into place, parts B34 and B35 'capture' the arms without the need for glue. Not certain if any of this will actually allow for movement of the rear suspension, but in theory it sounds viable. Your thoughts?
    Once again, thanks for your great kit reviews and builds - keep up the excellent work! 🤙

    • @NigelsModellingBench
      @NigelsModellingBench  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I do on most truck kits.. I leave the radius arms off until i can stand the chassis on its hubs or wheels, ensuring the wheels all touch the ground.

    • @mikecooper8462
      @mikecooper8462 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NigelsModellingBench so my theory will actually work - allowing movement in the suspension? I'm basing this on review of the instructions (downloaded off the interwebz) and of course viewing your videos. My kit is on the way. I believe this is also possible with the AFV Club M35 (cargo/fueler/workshop) trucks. I'm half-way through assembly of the cargo truck.
      Another point: can the radius arms be put in place [after] the wheels/tires are attached? Doesn't appear to be alot of room to work with between the frame and tires once they are put in place.
