"The moving curtain of light was to be for us a promise that GOD CAN CREATE GREAT BEAUTY FROM COMPLETE DESOLATION AND NOTHINGNESS- great beauty where there had been nothing before but despair hidden by shame and great effort."
What a blessing! I have been to Alaska twice but never that region, God willing, next time I would like go to her relics. Alaska is easily the most beautiful place I have ever been and the Alaskan people are so hospitable.
This shakes me. Feeling Goosebumps on my legs and toes upon reading this. So her grave is now empty and her relics are in a Chapel or something? This is wonderful news.
God bless you and yours! This is powerful! So grateful to God for giving us His Saints to stand by us and offer answers, solutions, peace, protection and most of all - love. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thank you for this video! I have an icon of Saint Olga and have been praying to her because I am pregnant, but I did not know she was also the Saint for people who have been abused. Very helpful and informative!
I don't think the title is official, but I have heard clergy say that she seemed to especially appear to people who were abused. I think a lot of modern Americans can really relate to her. Thanks for watching!
im in Anchor Point Alaska her Icon is on my wall she always smiles to me like things are going to be ok when I cry to her to pray for me, I live alone, I cant find a spouse im Orthodox, our priest is leaving and I dont know whats going to happen with my church, I feel broken please pray for our priest our church
Tell me your first name and I will pray for you. So many people are in similar situations. You are not alone in this struggle. I have a friend who has a live Sunday night show you may enjoy. Lots of great Orthodox people in the chats supporting each other, many of them are in similar situations. It is called SOS Radio (the Study of Stuff) and they play music and chat about Orthodox topics.
@@OrthodoxFamilyLife my name is Pike and thanks you, I have a small farm here, I have been alone too long, my priest left and isnt coming back, I dont know what happened we are all sad about it we didnt even get to say goodbye to him or mother, really the worst case it could possibly be, I am praying alot over everything and for God to guide me, I wasnt baptsed yet it was going to be planned, so now I really feel lost, I could become a Old Believer but I dont know if its what I should do

I was blessed to be there during the exhumation of St. Olga!! It was quite an experience. The earth from her grave now holds my candles for prayer. ❤❤

Is there a book that you would suggest to know more about this wonderful saint? Thanks a lot.
@@hildegardisverusckarocha6326 I think the book Orthodox Alaska, written many years ago, would probably have the most information about her.

My first Icon besides those of Jesus and The Theotokos was St. Olga's
I really love the icon of St. Olga with the Northern lights behind her.
@OrthodoxFamilyLife same. But I also really love her Photographic Portrait
