Thanks however you did not show the full process. You started the install and left the seal unseated, then cut back to it seated. What tool did you use to seat the seal please?

More than likely they used a socket and went around tapping it in. You can do this just make sure that the seal is flush all the way around with the metal. The seal should NOT be recessed.
