My next-door neighbor has one I was there when it arrived. We took it out on the Colorado river. It was absolutely amazing the way it handled. Getting ready to get one for myself. What a pleasant surprise
Thanks for watching @IBDAFFYibdaffy! We're looking forward to your retirement as well. Thank you for the kind words and warm wishes. We hope you'll consider subscribing to the channel for more informational videos to come!
Aloha @ExploringwithBug, thank you for watching and commenting! We hope you'll consider subscribing for more informational videos to come. The answer to your question is YES! Our Hawaiian Dan uses his for fishing in every form including spearfishing. The low profile gunnels makes for easy boarding from the water. Also, much easier to toss your catch on deck.
Great question! Since the FastCat 12 is a catamaran it tends to want to ride over light waves and chop where the FishSkiff 16 will cut right through especially with the new Keel. The Fastcat is a great boat for light and medium conditions but for open water that can get choppy or rough I would recommend the FishSkiff 16. With the ability to put on a larger motor and a bow designed to cut through waves the Fishskiff is better suited for heavier conditions.
Aloha @lilsk8er813, thank you for watching. We truly appreciate you and hope you'll consider subscribing to Sea Eagle Boats TH-cam Channel for more informative videos and new product releases to come! This is Sea Eagle's Hawaiian Dan and I've been trailering mine for over 6 years now with my Honda 9.9 and a transom saver. I strongly recommend using a transom saver whenever trailering any boat with an outboard. It will extend the life of your transom.
just subscribed to the chanel. i love my fast cat. highly considering getting this fish skiff for my son. i'd like to see more videos with this alex guy
Good question! Like all boats it completely depends on maintenance. Our boats require light maintenance like the occasional rinse down if its used in salt water. We highly recommend 303 aerospace protectant as this keeps the material in great condition and moisturized. If you are leaving it deflated and folded we recommend a cool dry area. If these steps are taken you can easily get many years of fun out of your boat. Cheers!
Hello, I am really interested in your boat. Is there a place where I can come see this boat in action or is there a store where we can meet and I’m kinda leaning towards the three seater
We do have dealers all over the country but you would need to contact them to see if they have any of the models on display. We have all of the models on display in our Port Jefferson, NY location. Feel free to ask any questions and we would be happy to answer!
Yes, the reason I was contacting you is that you are in Florida around Fort De Soto or so I am in Tampa,. I did call and they said they have displays in New York.
Aloha @user-Iw3rq8ul9o, thanks for watching. This is Sea Eagle's Hawaiian Dan and are the comparisons you requested. The Honda 5 HP (16 mpg wide-open) yields the following. 1-person: 15 mph, 2-person: 12 mph. The Honda 9.9 (10 mpg wide-open). 1-person: 21.5 mph, 2-person: 18 mph, 3-person: 18 mph. The biggest differences is in weight load, portability, fuel consumption, and speed. I personally designed the FSK16 to get me to my fishing locations in reasonable time. However, if you're not in a super rush. As I always seem to be due to time restraints. The Honda 5 is incredibly economical. I hope this answers your question and hope you'll consider subscribing to Sea Eagle Boats TH-cam Channel for more informative videos and new product releases to come! BTW, I love my super reliable Honda's! Aloha 🤙
The 437PS and the FishSkiff 16 will offer a very different boating experience. I like to to consider the 437PS Paddleski a hybrid, its a cross between a kayak and a boat. It can take up to 6hp outboard, be used with a trolling motor or just paddled around like a kayak. The seats sit lower on the floor so it functions more like a kayak in that sense and since only the floor is high pressure it will inflate quickly. The FishSkiff 16 is a full boat and can take up to a 10hp outboard that will push it around very quickly. The seats sit higher and it offers for room for gear and accessories. Both are great options but if you are looking for more of a boat than the FishSkiff is the better choice. I hope that helps!
This boat handles chop very well. We have a few videos on it showing how well it does in saltwater and chop. In saltwater I would recommend using our 303 aerospace protectant to easily wash the salt water off afterwards. Cheers!
Aloha @deliveryguy7402, both are great choices. However, the FishSkiff16 can be outfitted with a bow mount spot-lock motor as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. We hope you'll consider subscribing to the channel for more informational videos to come!

great review,

I love the design of this little boat! As an avid spearfishermen I'm really curious if it can still be applied to the applications that I need?

@SeaEagleBoats i love it! When i get back stateside ill start looking at getting one!!
@@ExploringwithBug would love to see some videos!
@SeaEagleBoats Will do!! Sending good vibes from Okinawa in the mean time!
How would you compare the uses with the Fastcat 12? Can the FC12 handle rougher waters like the FS16? Thanks

@SeaEagleBoats thanks for the great explanation
So with the 9hp how do you transport the motor? Do you remove it or can you trailer it with the motor being on the transom?

I’ve been looking at the 437 paddle ski do you know if the seams are welded or glued?
Hello @user-ktm890rider, the answer is both. Roughly 98% welded with a 2% high-tensile strength glue finish in locations the welder can't fit.
just subscribed to the chanel. i love my fast cat. highly considering getting this fish skiff for my son. i'd like to see more videos with this alex guy

How long will something like this hold up ?
Ive had aluminum boats 30+ years and still going strong

Is there a performance comparison between the 5hp and the 9hp on the fishskiff 16?

How does the FSK16 compare to the 437PS?
Could the Fishskiff be a Kayak Killer and kill Peddle and Motor Kayaks
How sure that compare to the 437PS?
The 437PS and the FishSkiff 16 will offer a very different boating experience. I like to to consider the 437PS Paddleski a hybrid, its a cross between a kayak and a boat. Would like to see you put a 20 hp outboard on it. That could be interesting.
She would fly! However the transom is rated for up to 10HP motor which pushes 2 people and gear along very quickly. Cheers!
How to do in saltwater and also in a light chop
This boat handles chop very well. We have a few videos on it showing how well it does in saltwater and chop. In saltwater I would recommend using our 303 aerospace protectant to easily wash the salt water off afterwards. Cheers!
can you car top it?
We car top often. Be sure to secure it properly. Especially the front and rear.
That's a nice boat, but I think it's too narrow for me. I want to get the 14' fast cat with the wider bottom in 2024. But I may change my mind.
Aloha @deliveryguy7402, both are great choices. However, the FishSkiff16 can be outfitted with a bow mount spot-lock motor as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. We hope you'll consider subscribing to the channel for more informational videos to come!
