茶腹鳾的學名:Sitta europaea，英文名:Eurasian Nuthatch，別名：普通鳾，屬鳾科，身長約12公分，台灣普遍的留鳥，雌雄鳥羽色相同，背面大致為藍灰色，飛羽及尾羽黑褐色，黑色過眼線長而明顯，胸及腹部淡黃褐色，脇及尾下覆羽栗褐色。通常單獨或小群出現於1500 公尺以上的中高海拔森林大樹幹的中、上層，會在樹幹上下行走自如，以樹上的昆蟲、螞蟻、蜘蛛等為食，秋冬季會取食果實及花苞等，常邊覓食邊發出「匹、匹、匹」或「嘰、嘰、嘰」的叫聲。
