    "...a wet spot that will kinda expand." That's what she said. Great video. Exactly what I was looking for to help me clean my own Hellcat. Now for a video on how to switch the mag release.

    Just bought a hellcat for personal defense. This answered every question I needed for the pistol.
    Fun fact: in Marine Corps boot camp, I probably cleaned my rifle 50-60 times before I even saw a magazine, let alone a round of ammo at the rifle range...lol.

      @HammerStriker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you. I wish people would clean it just once before they see a round of ammo (when they bring it home), there would be a lot fewer "out of box failures" :-)

      That is a not so fun fact. :) when cleaning this guy its like any other polymer pistol.

    Best gun cleaning video on you tube! Thank you for leaving out all of you political views and giving an actual description of what you are doing and why instead of playing music while I have to read.

    Thank you. Probably the most in-depth cleaning and oiling upload on TH-cam. I will occasionally refer back to a video like this.

    A very thorough video. Both my daughters have Hellcat’s as their first firearm and this video demonstrated all aspects of cleaning the firearm.
    Kudos to you for educating the many that need to know the basics, tools, techniques, and jargon. Good day and Bully for you.

    I bought a Walmart brand Mainstay silicone baking mat for $5, it's 16.5" x 11.6" rolls up nice and neat and cleans very easily. I have to clean my guns on my kitchen table or counter, this is a great cheap way to protect the surfaces.

    Great video. Very thorough. I’ve found that wood orange sticks that women use for manicures work well getting in tight places. I have a hard time keeping the inside edge of crowned barrels clean... there’s always a thin carbon ring on the stainless steel. Also cleaning FDE pistols is a pain... keep up the great content!

    Hey: I really like your gun review videos because of your informative, honest, and detailed assessments. I recently have watched your gun cleaning series of videos, and I noticed that you use Outers gun oil. With all the gun lubricants available today, why are you partial to Outers? Thank you for your response in advance. Again, great videos.

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! It works well, does not harm finishes and has very little odor. Being oil-solvent based, it is compatible with the lubricant I prefer (Super Lube) which includes Teflon. It can be hard to find but has worked great over the years.

    I have that problem. I grew up around firearms. I bought my first firearm too many years ago than I care to remember. Since then my collection has grown. My biggest problem is my wife steals them for herself and shooting up all my ammunition.

      Unfortunately right now with everybody buying up anything gun related, any link I post will be a dead link shortly after. Right now I use search engines to find what I need in stock somewhere and snag it the moment I see it.

    does that trigger take care eliminate the problem with the factory trigger side pressure locking up the trigger itself?

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it totally eliminates the potential for that issue.

    Can you damage the barrel if the brush is to big for the barrel?

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The brush all by itself won't, but the core of the brush may when it hangs up and you try to push harder. If the brush binds in the barrel, your natural response will be to push harder and a the core can bend and become hook-shaped which will then drag along the barrel. Steel core brushes are more likely than brass to do damage if this happens. Overall, it is best to use the right size or in a pinch one caliber up (.40 in a 9mm for example) but be careful.

      That Apex trigger is excellent. I had no trouble with the original trigger but the Apex takes it up a level.

    How good is outers?

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Discussing cleaning solvents can be almost as contentious as religion or politics at times. I have had very good results with Outers It doesn't stink, it leaves a light protective film and is very effective. It can be quite difficult to get without buying the whole cleaning kit so I tend to buy it in bulk when I find it.
