    Great video to help guys setting up their RWD drift car. Good on you Troy. Front wheel touching at full lock is a very common problem causing the car to spin out (by effectively braking that wheel). Thinning a turnbuckle at the contact point is one solution. I pop the wheel in a lathe and skim off the inner rim as much as possible to give more clearance. You could achieve the same thing by rubbing on sandpaper. If the tyre is touching the shock absorber spring, either move the shock inboard or space the wheel out with a wider hex or rims with more offset. Another solution is to use the MST FR-F tyre which is rounded and so gives more clearance.

      You are right! Many ways to solve it.

    Fast servos are bad from my experience. I'm quite fond of the sp-02Dv2 servo. It's the smoothest out of the box servo I've found. Smoother than the rs-st which is a close second.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you. Especially depending on the chassis steering rack setup. Some need very little movement, so speed isn't important.

      @@paulnorton7444 Honestly, your friend is wasting time trying to mod that chassis. A proper RWD chassis can be had for as little as $100 (Sakura D5) and will perform better than that chassis modded.

    Asking around to figure where to set my low voltage alarm. It's a 4800 mAh 2s 7.6 130c. If you can help? Thank you in advance! I am extremely new to drifting and have learned that my having had a stroke does me no favors in small moments LOL.

    • @RoadsideRC

      Don't stress about this too much.
      Your ESC should have a low voltage cutoff (LVC) that protects the battery.

    Hey Troy, I need a cheap external Gyro for Grayson’s car. Any recommendations. It’ll never see a track, just driveways parking lots or possibly ice

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought his car was AWD? Doesn't need one for AWD, the gyro will just mess with it.
      If I am wrong, this one really surprised me with how well it did: amzn.to/3T4vG6V

    • @taimaishu-nao1922
      @taimaishu-nao1922 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AWD typically doesn’t need a gyro. I never really needed it and I had a TT-02D. You can get away with a receiver gyro or even a cheap Amazon gyro if you think you need it but being AWD, once you learn to power slide it without a gyro, you’ll realize why no one uses them with AWD.
      Now RWD, it’s an absolute must! Without it, you’ll get super frustrated driving the car. SuperG has an article about gyroless RWD drifting if you’re interested.

    • @IowaBudgetRCBashers
      @IowaBudgetRCBashers 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoadsideRC ok yeah it’s awd.. that’s perfect, he can throw the receiver in there and go 😁

    Instead of filing parts down and making them weak why don't you just put the wheel stopper that come with the kit.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The wheel stopper also doesn't allow the maximum angle, I wanted to give him as much steering radius as possible.
      I have done this to many drift cars, and never had a break at that spot.

    • @driftcraze2138
      @driftcraze2138 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoadsideRC I find that kind of weird I have the yokomo yd2 EX I also have the yd2sx3 and both of them have stoppers and with the stoppers it clears everything.

  • @Exiovus

    cool content loved it until you attacked the arms/end joints instead of just using a suitable offset rims to solve the problem, sakura rims are 5mm offset if youd just used 1mm spacers or 6mm offset rims you wouldnt have to damage the chassis parts for a quick fix sorry just this kinda thing annoys me when stuff like this happens great content tho. love these vids of you fixing other peoples setups its great because they have a chance to enjoy the hobby rather then sell out early without getting a chance to enjoy it.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      That is fair feedback - I actually do this on most of my drift cars to help with steering angle while still keeping the body fitment. So far, hasn't caused any issues for me!
