- Choosing a credit card? I'll explain the basics of credit cards in this video! People are either afraid of credit cards or want them for the wrong reasons. That’s understandable because a Credit Card is a tool, you can either use it to do good or harm to your finances.

It really depends in your lifestyle, do you shop online? Gas up? Grocery? Travel (in the future 😂)? I really like the Citibank cards but they’re harder to get into than others but you can try their CitiRewards, CitiSimplicity, Citi CashBack, or get one from a bank you have a savings account with for easier approval

great video! just what i needed as i wanted to apply for my first credit card. one question though, what do you recommend for a first credit card? is it better to choose one without the annual fee but with no rewards, or one that has an annual fee but with rewards?

My suggestion would be to get a card with a minimal annual fee like 1,500 or 2,500 (max), if you spend enough (240-300k/yr), you can usually get the annual fee waived, if not, they kind of pay for themselves in the forms of rewards, rebates, or the just the convenience of it. They’re pretty worth it in my opinion 😊

If you keep getting denied to get a CC, try a Secured Credit Card first.

You can have it in installments also. There are 0% installment options, but meron din with interest similar to home credit.
Its my first time applying for a credit card. Ayaw ko na kasi umuutang sa iba. However on top of this. natatakot din ako mag credit card kasi big responsibility din tlga pag may CC ka. But this video helped alot and made me feel confident with owning one.
Credit card means you spend money you don’t have, plain and simple. Here in America, having debt is normal that’s why when pandemic happened majority of them were worried about losing their jobs coz of bills. Having savings for rainy days is a must unless you want to be “normal” e.i in debt. Just my two cents. I’m sure same principle applies in the Philippines.

Usually around 10-30k is the starting limit
@5:26 we have credit score po by credit bureau, The Credit Information Corporation (CIC), a government owned and controlled corporation providing credit information in the Philippines.
others like CIBI, another private credit info which reports credit to CIC po.

On the video, you mentioned about the cashbacks and promos that credit card companies give. But the thing is, there is also an annual fee. Is it worth it to have the promos when there is annual fee?
