    The opening made me laugh. If you haven't heard it yet, the sweater is beautiful! As are your other creations, especially the cowl and the rust fingerless gloves. Very precious.

    Beautiful sweater! My children are grown now but thank you for bringing back sweet ( and tiring) memories of when they were small. You are definitely blessed that you recognize those special moments. Enjoy every one.💕

    Spent a good couple minutes looking at the midland test knit page wanting to apply but knowing I don’t have the time to commit to test knits with two little not yet in school at home, so I’m saving you the work of having to read my application, but know I love the design and the Maxine. Excited to knit them in the future!

    I so enjoyed your podcast today. With all the weather things here in Florida I can’t seem to knit. Everything with me is fine but just the drama of it all and how sad it all is. Thank you for your positivity.

    Sitting here watching while working on a test knit for a friend whose been designing for a few years but struggles to get sufficient knitters especially in the larger sizes. So interesting to hear how you you decide on test knitters.

    • @_laurapenrose_
      @_laurapenrose_  2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      There are some fantastic Instagram accounts that promote test calls specifically focus on size inclusivity, as long as they meet the criteria (enough sizes, long enough time frame etc). Fattestknits is one that’s helped me find testers for the larger sizes a few times! I’d suggest your friend definitely check them out!! X

    Your intro was hilarious and so freakin relatable! I almost spit out my coffee laughing. 😂 Thank you for that!
    I am in love with the midland cardigan since I first saw it back in 2023 and I thought about applying to be a test knitter (never done that) but my anxiety kept me from applying. It took a whole long dog walk yesterday for my brain to convince me that I‘d better not apply and that’s okay. 😅
    The cowl looks beautiful and I love pumpkin soup. 🧡
    Have a lovely life admin day today. ~ Kat

      Even though growth comes from being uncomfortable, it’s also important we respect our boundaries and push ourselves when the time is right. The midland is not ideal for a first test knit so you made the right decision! I’d recommend trying an accessory test knit to start with and it’s a much smaller commitment ☺️☺️☺️ x

      @@_laurapenrose_ Thank you for the advice but I don’t want to become a test knitter. I probably could not handle the fear of disappointing the designer. It was just something about this cardigan that almost made me want to jump over my shadow. 😅 I am so looking forward to this design and will be one of the first persons to purchase the pattern. 🤎

    The big question is, was it the nice boiler man? haha. The Maxine 3 colour is absolutely beautiful. I've just picked mine back up in preparation for weekend car knitting!

    I don't apply for test knits for garments because I am (rightfully) not likely to be chosen along with my fear of not finishing in time and disappointing people. My size is right smack in the middle, so there will always be a lot of applicants, and other than having a Ravelry account (not under this name), I have zero social media presence, so I won't be of any use for marketing. I have test knitted for an accessory, so I can check test knitting off my bucket list. It was a wonderful experience (at least on my side. I don't want to speak for the designer), but I've no need to repeat it. Happy to purchase the pattern once it's complete even if I am antsy waiting for it to drop. :D Thanks for making me giggle right from the start. I have played that same scenario (minus the designing part) in my head sooooo many times. I have to laugh at myself. Grins!

    Yeah, I don't think test knitting will probably be something I would ever get chosen for and even though I'd love to apply for yours, I won't. I don't do IG due to my executive function issues and mental health. It's a real shame but I'm more important than a test knit and my knitting is more important to me than that too. Good luck with everything. You're finished sweater looks fantastic!

    When you mentioned “boiler overflow” i cringed a bit inside thinking of the boiler overflowing.
