    Overhaul looks great!
    1. YNAB - delete your target and set it up again for the new year. That will solve that problem
    2. I have a ton of domains for godaddy too. I have a domain category group and then each domain is listed in there with its own due date
    3. Have you played with filtered views yet? You can create a view for all your bills due in the first 2 weeks and then a view for the last 2 weeks.

      Thank you!!
      1. I realize everyone's been saying to delete the TARGET. I ended up deleting the CATEGORY. But it's fixed now! lol
      2. Ooh, good idea. Might have to try that with my next overhaul. Although having everything have the same renewal date is appealing as well.
      3. Nope, haven't played with filtered views. I mean, kind of? The ones that are already set up for me by default. I'll get there! :D

    I love the updates! I know as you continue to use it, you'll continue to fine tune (or overhaul again! that's fine, too) :)

    I love it!! I'm so happy to see you figuring this out and making it work for you!! I'm sure you will stumble across other categories as you go and probably re-do this a couple of times, I can't wait to see how this works out for you 😊

    The beauty of YNAB is you can tweak and tweak some more. You are progressing so well with this journey and adventure! I would have put the rest of the money in your mortgage category so you don't have to find all $800 of it out of next paycheck! Just my 2cents 😜

    This is a great reworking of your budget! As you go along, I’m sure you’ll have moments of “oops, forgot I needed to save for that” or “time to Marie Kondo this category, it’s no longer bringing me joy.” I’ve been using YNAB for years and it’s always a work in progress! 😊

      @midlifeadulting  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is it weird that I'm kind of looking forward to what I need to save for? I really like things to be "perfect", so I'm going to try very hard to just exist with what I have right now and not get too anxious about finding every possible savings category. 💖✨

    Your new budget looks beautiful!! That is the great thing about YNAB, that you can completely customize it to what works for you. I think all YNABers change their budget all the time, because your priorities change all the time.
    For that YNAB target I don’t know if it’s set to repeat or not, that could be the issue. But if it were me I would delete the target and reset it for the new payment date.

      @midlifeadulting  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Yeah, once I get more comfortable, I'll probably definitely be rearranging again. :)
      I ended up creating a new YNAB category and then deleting the one that wouldn't stop being green. Moved that transaction to the new category, and boom! All is well! Thank you for the suggestion!

    You need to change your YNAB target to needed for spending, custom, and then set it to repeat! That way it’ll automatically reset every year for you.

    for targets, either make sure the transaction is either paid before Feb 26 or on Feb 26 otherwise it wont start again or if fluctuates in Feb just put the last day of Feb or you can push delete button target and re-enter it again

    Love this new setup! Just curious why you wouldn't let your child cover the entire cost of a tattoo? Could be a good teaching opportunity for them?

      @midlifeadulting  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! And as for the tattoo - it's a graduation gift. All future ink will be on them, and they'll have employment to save for it. :)

    For YNAB target you need to change the date to 2/26/25.

    • @midlifeadulting
      @midlifeadulting  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oddly, it still says "fully spent", even when I correct the date to when it's supposed to auto-renew in 2025. >.

      When I can’t figure it out, I delete the Target and start over. Sometimes the timing gets mixed up. I suspect it’s a user error on my part, but there are times I just can’t figure it out.

      @KeepingMoneyJazzy หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NanetteLoves2Budget I just started using in February and I am still learning how to use it. It definitely is a learning curve but a good way to reset mindset of how you budget.

  • @monchichi4545
    @monchichi4545 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    On the target, I suspect you had set it up initially where the due date for the target was BEFORE the money actually was spent. When this happens, YNAB counts the spending for the current year, not the prior year. Your best bet honestly is to delete the target and re-create it.

    • @midlifeadulting
      @midlifeadulting  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ooh, that sounds right, actually. Thank you for the suggestion! 💖✨

    • @patrickc1795
      @patrickc1795 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just to expand on what monchichi says, the issue is the Needed for Spending target type. This target type says "Assign $X in this category by x date, but it's OK if you spend up to this amount along the way".
      For the YNAB category, the target says: Assign $104.93 before Feb 2025. It's OK if you spend this amount before Feb 25". I'm guessing that you set up the category and target during your 30 day free trial. The free trial came to an end, and then you assigned and paid the annual fee. In the target's mind, you've fulfilled your obligations: you assigned $104.93 before Feb 2025.
      Delete and recreate the Needed for Spending target with the new date of Feb 2025. Making a new target will ignore any previous assigned and spend money, and completely start afresh. Another option is to use the Savings Balance target type with a due date of Feb 2025. This target type is a bit more straight forward. It says "Have $104.93 in this category by x date. Do not spend from it along the way, and if you do, I will increase how much you need to put aside each month to ensure that you have $104.93 by Feb 25".
      Your new budget looks great by the way! Redoing your whole budget categories when you are learning how to do YNAB is the YNAB-way, and I think you're going to find YNAB a lot easier to use. Just be careful to use the right target types (as well as dates) because that's what was tripping you up in your last budget :)

    gas, you had $10 rollover into May, and the type of target you've got to not include that amount and to add $70 a week regardless of what is in the available amount column
