Could you not leave the connector on the vacuum pump and relocate the one from the body harness to the end of the supplied wire, allowing it to be easily unplugged for any future reason?
You absolutely could. I put some text on the screen to explain why I didn’t. My plug was very brittle. I guess from age and heat. So I just removed it. But you definitely could keep the plug on the pump…and just extend the harness and put the other end of the plug back on.
I agree! I’m sure they did it to try to get the potential noise away from the driver. Other than that I can’t think of why they would have put it where they did. But good you got it moved! It’s something that has been on my to do list for a while.
I'd have to find another place to relocate mine. My switch pod is mounted there
You can definitely get creative with it. Just need some more vacuum hose at the right diameter. Maybe a little more wire.

I bought some random one off Amazon when I did my winch bumper install. That vacuum pump is located in a pretty ridiculous spot in stock form!
