nice video! munich is a beautiful city! I like him very much. 1:33 the locomotive has the designation 380 in the Czech Republic

Thanks so much! I also like Munich :-) Yes, DB class 102 is based on class 380 locos, but slightly modified according to DB requirements (and is only for 15kV voltage)

As I said in the original video, exterior design of the trainset is amazing in my oppinion.
I will do the route next week, but on ICE, I will try ICE for my first time.

Nice, I also planned ICE from Munich, but there are mainly ICE3 and ICE4 in operation and I already tried both of them.

Another enjoyable video Pete - thanks. Looks like a really nice regional set and wasn't the weather just great for a ride through Bavaria. Thanks also for the tip on buying the daily ticket if travelling at short notice - will no doubt come in handy in the future. 👍

Thanks so much! Yes, this is very nice regional train :-) For me, this train was interesting mainly because it is made in my country, soon similar sets from the same manufacturer will be in operation in my country as well :-)

thanks for the video. I have done that journey twice - I come over from New Zealand and like visiting the DB Museum in Nuremberg. But with the effects of COVID (Ie much higher airfares from NZ to Germany) I can watch your video(s) and get pleasure from them.

they used to run single deck coaches on this route but they switched to double deck coaches as there was such a high demand, connecting some of the largest cities in the state and some of the larger towns in between, which is also interesting for many commuters

Great video, but a summary of your thoughts and critical opinion at the end would've been nice. Do you think they're good? Was it worth the wait for so many years?

Thank you :-) I wrote some opinions at the end of the video.. but honestly in some things I was surprised (not pleasantly), for example the train was less spacious then e.g. Twindexx or Stadler Kiss. And also I had the feeling that the train was swaying slightly to the sides (but I wasn't sure), until a friend confirmed to me that he had a similar feeling.

Is this train part of the Deutschland Ticket? Where can I find the schedule?

This train is a Regional express category, so it should be included in the validity of the Deutschland ticket. The departures should be found in the DB Navigator application or on the Deutsche Bahn website (I'd rather put only München - Ingolstatt in the search), these trains are marked as line RE1. Btw. sometimes it may happen that this double-decker unit can be replaced by a classic loco-hauled set, because these Škoda units are quite faulty.

Hi Pete! I don't know if you see the question. Are there ticket inspectors on regional trains in Bavaria? If there is a delay, who should be told to wait for the other train?

Hi! Yes, there was a conductor on most of the trains I traveled on in Bavaria (including this one). The only train where I didn't meet the conductor was the train running between Nürnberg and Cheb
