Alright... Here it is, Project Wingman.
This game isn't well covered by the trends on TH-cam... therefore I am hoping that you will LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT on it so that it gets hits because I am recording more of these missions, and it would help if they went at least as big as my previous videos. Please share it with your fellows who are fans of air combat games in general.

Mercenary Corp Sicario - Squadron Hitman - Tac Name Monarch
A mercenary security force Sicario is hired by the Federation to target the Burlok privateers holed up on an Island. They are tasked with dismantling the reinforcements, the present forces and then taking out a cargo by the decree of Federation whose rule spans across multiple nations.

Trigger himself is conflicted about it. At one side, its Prez, the lines are entertaining. At the other, this is mercenary difficulty and my play style doesn't fit with lethargic heavy armament aircraft 🫠

It is a dirty clone of Ace Combat, with all its shortcomings, and without the cinematic flair and audio-visual fidelity. They wasted their dynamic campaign with a roguelike gimmick, while missing out on fundamental elements like managing a roster of pilots. It's funny. The game is called Project Wingman yet you have no clue about your wingmen's names or their abilities as individuals.

On the contrary, with the resources that they had, I would say that they at least attained slightly above average score. The game shines in a number of gameplay aspects that AC7 severely lacked in. As to the characters, I do not know how someone who is familiar with project Aces's work would miss the characters that are present in the game. All the squad mates are quite distinct in the way they are presented.

@@trigger7814 By that you mean only that they have distinct voiceovers. What are their names, faces, combat records? Abilities, experiences, behavioral profiles that affect them in mission? Can you hire, fire, reassign them? I have played the game. I know it does not have any of that.
I am sorry for dumping on a game you clearly love. But unless fans ask for improvements, there will be none. You will get project wingman 2 where the only thing improved is graphics.
They could have used their resources to bring back and build on gameplay of the beloved 'lite' flight sim classics from Jane's and Novalogic (who also were developers with limited resources BTW). Could have brought back features like dynamic career mode, NPC squad management that have all but disappeared from combat sims made in the past couple of decades or so.
Instead they made a clone of Ace Combat. Worse, when Ace Combat games have already started releasing on PC.
Don't know why I am bothering with this rant. Devs will neither hear nor care. Nor does the community evidently. TH-cam just happened to recommend your video while I was lamenting the sad state of current combat sims. Just grabbed the opportunity to vent a little.

@@sam_eguene "names, faces, combat records, abilities, experiences, behavioral profiles...." Like a pilot in a squad that you manage in between missions. Hearing a name in a scripted voiceover or a cutscene or whatever happens in mission 16 does not really address the point.

@@KK-fi6ms Project Wingman is litteraly a indie game made by 1 person do you really think D2 should have hired a real actors who will do some shit because some Top Gun fan doesn't like how characters just talk and not showing their faces? (Also Project Wingman is not referencing wingmans, it's referecing in-game development of planes)
