It was bad enough that he gave up on it and Hades taught him how to spear fight instead. Not gonna go into any personality flaws because…well, this is Greek mythology. The whataboutism alone would be the stuff of a thesis paper.
I mean, in most myth, Hades is the oldest of the three brothers, and thusly the most powerful, Luck just isn't on his side, and he got the realm that actually requires work. Zues is only the "King of Gods" because he wasn't eaten by Kronos and was able to plot to free his siblings who put in major work once they were able to join the fight.
I wonder if Hera sometimes fantasize marrying Hades insead of Zeus in this universe. When Hades makes a vow, he commits to it, whereas Zeus does as Zeus does. On the other hand, I think they'd sill be miserable together, especially if there's no chemistry between them.
Hera ironically could being a goddess of life but she'd be just as if not more miserable because she's the queen politics and all. And Hades wanted none of that mess. 😅
