I have a 2014 ford fusion titanium, bought it in 2020. My dad and I replaced the steering rack 4 or 5 times now. Can't afford a mechanic to look at anything anytime soon. Just replaced it maybe 2 months ago, and just today, I felt the steering wheel stiffen up rotating back from a right-hand turn. Dont think we ever checked wiring very closely or fuses. Sure am getting sick of this car though but I'm stuck with it at the time being.
Bro. What kinda of animal that client have in their yard? Looks like a large one got up in there. No amperage from the motor was the key to this diagnose. Solid find and work
Hello, I have the same problem, have you found out what the problem is. This is the second time I have had a rodent/squirrel chew through my power steering wire. First time I spliced it and started it up and it worked fine, this second time I spliced it and not working, I too checked fuses etc, no luck. Please let me know if you sound anything out
great video... it's was highly informative and very user friendly. from noobs to wrench heads a wonderful masterpiece. Thank you.
Thank you
Thanks for the video. I had the exact same thing and in the same spot on the wires.
Awesome, I am glad it helped!

Remember to check control module and see if you can get it replaced. Either way fuses and make sure you use OBD scanner for better convenience

I would scan for codes and test the wires. You can get all this info in service information from Ford.

Hi Robert, what kind of Scanner are you using Please?
It is autel but launch is better. I have both so I can tell which is better
Under the other fuses box
Thanks!
You're welcome
What type of scared tool are you using?
It is linked in the description.
How did you get the connectors off?
What connector off?
2-3 inches from the repair splice. I took the red clip out of the connector but It just would not unplug, so I had to splice it together on the car.
Where are you located?
Birdsboro, pa
