Trying not to be rude but why did you even post this? Waste of everyone's time. We are already irritated that we have to deal with figuring out these random power steering issues without sitting through 13 minutes of nonsense.

I fixed this kind of issue on my 2013 C-max. When the rack and pinion hit anything or bump into something real hard, the sensor inside it will trigger. All you have to do is clear it with a good scanner.
Hey man! I was wondering if you knew of a problem im having, i have the same model. Average about 37 mpg BUT an issue started about two weeks, it almost feels like a sliiping sensation when accelerating between 1500 and 2000. If i accerlate above 2000 rpm it usually wont do it. No codes or anything, dont reallly see anything on the tachometer. Doing some research and people are saying ecvt literally cant slip. Any ideas, i did a drain and fill on the trans about 15000 miles ago but didnt notice anything unusual. Taking it to the shop on monday, still runs and everything
Don't know. Not a mechanic, but check your plugs and the part that connects to the plugs. Could be misfire.
I never got 37 mpg average. 35 was best I got.
I have. 2012 sel, just paid 1400$ for a new rack and pinion bc that’s what the shop told me it was. 2 weeks later here I am with the same issue .

Just download the software to a pc and buy the connector and reset the steering. Make sure your tires are all good and the pressure sensors are working. You may also need to reset the ABS code.
Do you need a diagnostic scanner to do this or can a different type of scanner do it I’m having the same prob. My low tire pressure light has been on for like a year and this is the first time my power steering has went out. Showing code c1b00
you need the forescan software to reset it.

That's most definitely not high mileage I have 368,000 on mine there's two fuses in the fuse box under the hood number one and number two if you just remove number one and leave it out you'll never have a problem again

I would say yes but there are multiple possible causes of power steering failure
It works. Try it. There's always a chance theres something wrong with your steering but more than likely the error was triggered by something else like the pressure sensors in the tires or the ABS system.
You were useless
