I'm located in the midlands. I can attest to the humidity and sand here. The ranges I go to all have sand in their names.
I do find these interesting. I currently use a Harris on my PTR-91 but it's not very stable when I set the rifle down. One time the wind knocked it off the table we were using. Luckily the rifle and scope were fine, but it did break one of my scope caps which was annoying. The wide feet on these should help out a bunch.
