    Great video Mo. This product is definitely not for everyone, but it was one of the best things I added to my routine in 2023. I started with the 100 and have gotten to the 700 which I like best as it's a once per week treatment. I used the technology before in the commonlabs spot treatment and was amazing for my acne.

    I cant wait for this technology to be improved. We need lab made spicules and the spicules should be made of key skincare ingredients like peptides hyaluronic acid ceramides vitamin c ECT and have them dissolve directly into skin would be an amazing way of delivering ingredients .Let me dream

      But the VC Reedle shot's "needles are made of skin care. That's why it's called the VT CICA REEDLE SHOT!. The "needles" are literally made of cica (Centella Asiatica), a calming skincare ingredient that dissolve. So not only are no sea sponge spicules being "jammedd into your skin" , but the "spicules" that are used aren't even spicules. It's pieces of Centella Asiatica that DISSOLVE and will never cause a foreign body reaction. Also, this product is not new, it has been around for a few years, with no one having any kind of foreign body reaction of course. Just because Americans finally discovered it and made it go viral on Tik Tok doesn't make it new. I'm not trying to sound like I'm mad at you or that your comment made me mad or anything like that, but the level of misinformation this guy spewed about this product just because he couldn't be bothered to go on to ANY of the skin care sites and read the friggin DESCRIPTION is so disheartening. He is supposed to be a scientist, a toxicologist, and he couldn't even do the most basic of research. Like, what did he think the CICA in Cica Reedle Shot meant?!

      @amypanddirtytoo1926 it’s really weird to come and start attacking me, i am always open for discussion but your attitude and tone seems way offensive, “the fact this toxicologist couldn’t do most basic research to learn what cica in the name of the product” dear you need to calm down, if you look at the ingredients list there is an ingredient called hydrolysed sponge, this the sea sponge body broken down to form this spicules, the active ingredient like cica and HA are loaded on the spicules, even the AD campaigns the brand did with big influencers like james welsh where they provide him with all the information they said (brand) and he said that the delivery system is spicules made of silica, so before commenting on experts video and accusing them of misinformation please do better, learn the topic more and be a decent human that discuss with proper manners with no accusations of my credibility and spreading misinformation, have a good day 🙌

    I’m korean one thing people should know is we use this because we don’t really do micro needling in asia so if you use this it is best you don’t do micro needling too also one thing people should know is korean skincare products is generally less harsh than western skincare so make sure after this it is best not to layer on harsh products afterwards but use something smoothing (I had not used to yet but I think maybe I will be interested in the future because this is a newer product and I feel like there is not enough tests done for it now so I think I will wait a bit later if I decide to use it or not

The company also reached out and said they tested it on human skin for a while duh, and they said there was a decrease of pores by 30% ish. Why wouldn't the company test on human skin before. So many people online have tested it for their skin too and said it's great. I was waiting for this video! While I wouldn't say that this system is something to be scared of when used sparingly, I'm more surprised there are some 'biomicroneedling' in-office treatments using this delivery system, where the needles are massaged in super forcefully - I would say that those treatments have a higher chance of penetrating to the dermis, and causing that foreign body reaction

    • @Moskinlab
      @Moskinlab  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Definitely not scary but the risk is way different than other penetration enhancement technologies, for me personally I wouldn’t use it because encapsulation and other formulation technologies can perform well and with much lower number of risks, the image of the in clinic treatment is giving me nightmares and segni the risk is way higher with that 👌🏻

      Simply saying as another MD 1-2 years isn’t considered long term. If it had been 5 years that would be short. Long term is generally 10 year intervals in terms of data collection & sample size of the group is also important. I note you didn’t give any sources for no side effects reported so it’s hard to qualify that statement. In any case I don’t think 1-2 years is long term data to judge foreign body reaction & long term effects with increasing strength (100, 300, & 700).

    I'm still super hesitant to try this because of the lack of long-term safety studies. It just reminds me of when I accidentally touched fiberglass and got a bunch of uncomfortable fiberglass splinters in my fingers. The spicules don't disolve, so they remind me of how hard it was to pull those splinters out with tape later. Maybe they are different and will be shed later on, but I just don't feel like anyone has used this for long enough to know.

    I've been using VT 700 on my face (after trying out VT 300) out of desperation because even the highest percentage bleaching cream wasn't getting rid of hyperpigmentation on one of my temples and PIH from acne in other places. I previously spent $1750 on Halo Laser in February, which left me red and swollen for 4 days with very noticeable improvement after. So, VT 700 has been a blessing for me because it turns my skin into a sponge that readily absorbs actives that could not previously penetrate deep into the epidermis. For me, this product is a life saver and will continue to use it. But VT 700 is strong and when I used it in other parts of my body to target hyperpigmented spots, it caused a rash that I treated with hydrocortisone. So, use this product judiciously and start with the lower doses and build tolerance.

    Loved this video. In my opinion the risk of these needles being stuck into the skin is too high. Can anyone remember the last time you got a wood-needle in your finger from a broken piece of wood and was nearly impossible to be removed? Same idea to me, but on a scale invisible to the eye. Plus it's silica. It's inorganic, like a stone, is going nowhere. Will the natural epidermal daily exfoliation be enough for it to be "ejected" before the occlusion defensive process occurs? We do not know it yet. The risk-benefit is very imbalanced toward the risk in my opinion. Not worth it.

You mentioned on the fact the penetration should just be on the epidermis and unless excessive pressure is applied then it may impact the dermis too. Is there a chance granulomas can be avoided if the product is applied with gentle pressure and also less frequently example: twice a week

    The main risk as Dr Mo says is that nobody knows where the spicules go because they are not biodegradable. There is no data on what happens to the pickles that have been applied in droves to the skin!!! I don’t care how smooth it might make my skin, I wouldn’t risk the product as much as touching my skin. Dr Dray who is also excellent in her knowledge of skin structure and ingredients has an excellent video on this product. Great video Dr Mo - I will definitely subscribe to your channel. Thank you!

But they didn't include any studies or source for this claim, and they didn't mention any risk of silica granuloma. I LOVE the VT Reedle shot (I use the 300). Baby smooth skin, reduces redness, and zero irritation (and I have sensitive rosacea prone skin).
    I much prefer it to chemical exfoliators, which I’ve always found to be somewhat irritating. The Reedles are Microscopic, and the cream does not have any particles in it that you can feel. It also sinks into the skin fairly quickly, so I doubt it’s possible to do damage by “scrubbing too hard”.
    Obviously, it’s not for everyone. And I can totally understand some folks being hesitant to try it. But there’s a reason it’s a viral product, and that’s because it works really well. I’ve tried a ton of skincare, and this has impressed me most in terms of living up to its claims.
    I think the main risk is that, because the Reedle Shot IS so effective, some people might be tempted to use the product improperly or too frequently. And, obviously, that would be an issue. But those are the same “more is better” people who think aggressive exfoliation or excessive AHA/BHA use is a good idea…

    Could the micro-damage caused by the abrasion increase penetration because of a loosening of the epidermis due to the release of proinflammatory cytokines that should facilitate the movement of our immune cells? This!! These types of semi-intensive 'treatment' products were always lacking in Korea's skincare offerings. They don't even allow high percentage BHAs! Not at all a bad thing, but apparently Korean consumers never knew they needed it until this reedle shot stuff blew up...
      Doesn't help that K-beauty is very heavy on overconsumerism. They'll make products of all imaginable textures and ingredients and formats, and there will be money spent on PR, and influencers ready to promote anything, and consumers primed with fomo constantly chasing new things...

    So what happens when these micro needles gets into our drinking water system? Or your pet licks your cheeks??

      Unfortunately i have no information about this since I focused on researching human risk while preparing for this video

      @@Moskinlab thank you for replying but drinking water thing really worries me. that is a human risk. we already have issues in our water system. all those polyester or nylon garments we wash, those tiny micro fibers are not getting filtered and we are basically drinking those fibers. we are suppose to wash them in a special wash bag but i highly doubt people know about this.. anyway thank you.

    The company said the needles leave the body after 2 days during regular face wash , so I don’t think the foreign body reaction is a valid point

    • @Moskinlab

      We should always take brands claims with a pinch of salt, I provide the literature available data for a similar delivery system, the risk is there but jot significant and i made it clear in the video 🙌❤️

      @@Moskinlab yeah I know , but a lot of people especially dr dray she started yapping about how they don’t leave the body and all of that and I find it very misleading cause the brand made it clear
      If they had done the research on a human using this specific product then yes they have a point otherwise they have nothing to prove
      This is not towards you I’m talking about most influencers and doctors on social media click baiting for views

    • @Moskinlab
      @Moskinlab  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I totally understand you, that’s why i wanted to discuss it from risk point of view, i wanted to let the public know about the possible risk and let them have the information to form an informed decision, it’s always about risk benefit and i agree some people (derms and influencers) used click bait titles and a little bit of fear, i hope my video didn’t convey this because i tried my best to select my words carefully. But at the end i really hope they did a proper risk assessment for this product and have the data (even if not shared) to show the risk is low or insignificant ❤️
