The Burton Batmobile will always be my favorite, but I wish Bandai (or anybody) would make a kit of the Animated Series Batmobile; its design maybe wouldn't make for the most detailed build but it's perhaps the most iconic Batmobile that still doesn't seem to have a model kit available.

The tumbler is a more intricate design than the others with more colour details with the smoked glass you can't see much underneath ( plus the console would be unseen anyway) if you've ever built the mobius kit (1/24ish) you'll understand 🤫 I've built both versions, the Burton version looks great I built ( AMT/revell versions years ago) might get it sometime plus the design is simpler as for the BATMAN version I'd prefer it in 1/24-25 scale to go with my other movie cars and fit in with the west mobile others are more in scale with the batwing from Burton verse 🤓

Imagine a Tumbler kit with springs in the suspension to give it the right feel-the Tumbler was always moving and shifting, so seeing it static like that is a sad fate.
I honestly dont know why bandai is not dipping their whole feet onto the vehicle model kit market. they can seriously attract casual builders and veteran builders alike. Sure, gluing and manually painting every single detail is part of the enjoyment process, but who says it also cant be done in a snap-build color-accurate kit? If people still do it on already complete detailed gunpla, Im sure vehicle model builders surely wont mind giving their own touch while inviting the casual/experienced but dont have time in their lives to do the extra work demographic

Built The Batman Batmobile myself. Was a fun little kit to build. The engine block is such an eye catcher once you chrome it out and use some panel liner to give it some depth. It’s honestly a beautiful kit. Thanks for the comparisons!

Just got the new Batmobile yesterday. I can't wait to build and paint it. Unrelated: Much to my surprise, the "A" runner for the HG Hyaku-Shiki is all just gold. All one color.
Funny thing the tumbler is actually a kit from 2005 (something I had no idea about until after I bought it) the need of paint and glue from a Bandai kit was super disappointing. Which technically it isn’t it’s a reprint of a different company’s kit.
I just saw the old school batmobile model kit at Walmart where I live. Can't remember which company it was made by. But it was not bandai. And said that it needed glue. But it had all the same preview pictures on the box.
Loving the speed at which these backlog videos are coming out but the whole time it’d be easier to move house with them unbuilt in the boxes! Great content as always though
I'll give credit to Bandai on how details their kits such as Batman and Star Wars are, it's still a shame they don't add color parts to them though. Like the PG Millennium Falcon looks amazing, but it is molded all in grey so you have to put a huge amount of effort in if you really want it looking good. (some of the Wat War kits do come with some pre color parts, but it's very minimal on the ones that do)
trust me, those "realistic" models like tanks, ships, batmobiles and x-wing kits wouldn't look good even with crazy part separation. They would still beg for paint, because without it (and washes, filters, waterslides, etc.) it would still look toyish.
The 89 batmobile will always be the best... Because it was based on a Lotus chassis and well all know British is best (well it used to be British at the time lol)
Sadly Tumbler just like that, actually Bandai could put Batpod inside Tumbler with that large space left...and it's okay for double or triple the price and get Batpod mechanism inside Tumbler...
I got the Tumbler, but haven’t built it yet. Too bad it’s the least good of the bunch. I bought it at a con a few months ago and originally I wanted the Tim Burton Batmobile but they were out of that one, so I went with the Tumbler. Now I kinda regret that I haven’t bought the The Batman version. The car itself is a bit too plain for me in terms of design, but the build looks fun. In any case, all three need to be fully painted, if only to get rid of the plastic look they all have.
My friend you have been in the gunpla cave for too long, bandai do make traditional model kits. ie kits that aren't color molded accurate and that need glue. Besides that good review.
The Tumblr and the Tim Burton's batmobile always plastics in my heart. Everybody has love for the new the Batman batmobile because it's the most realistic version because it's like Year One batmobile. There is no way that tumbler is on the same scale as the last one. The tumbler is a HUGE vehicle compared to an up-armored car. Definitely not true 1/35 scale.

That makes a lot of sense. Otherwise it feels like bandai gave this assignment to three separate teams to see what they would come up with.

They need to get the Initial D kit rights straight from Aoshima if they need to do more car specific things , it's only right for Bandai to dip in it.

I found out that if you put some metallic gundam marker paint on a cotton swab you can paint parts with clear using the cotton swab

I enjoy building this 89 batmobile it was much easier and better compared to AMT batmobile which requires glue for all parts
